Top __ Most Anticipated Games of 2013

1. Bioshock Infinite
Love what Ken Levine is doing. I love the look, the idea and feel of the city of Columbia. Most hyped game of the year.

2. Ni no Kuni
A JRPG with a world map with an amazing look to it. I've so far enjoyed every Level 5 game to date (Jeane D'arc, Rogue Galaxy, Dark Cloud 2 and DQ VIII) and thus looking forward what they've created.

3. Metal Gear Rising
It's 60 fps, it's out soon and it's made by Platinum Games. Looks like Vanquish crossed with Bayonetta crossed with Metal Gear. HYPE.

4. The Last of Us
A new franchise from Naughty Dog with some of the best animation I've ever seen.

5. GTA V

I always love the soundtracks for GTA games. I'll be interested to see what Rockstar North are doing with this one. I still question the choice of putting in 3 male main characters but we'll see how they pull it off..

6. Puppeteer

The look of this title is quite unique. Let's hope it plays more like Mario and less like Little Big Planet.

7. Beyond Two Souls
I liked some aspects of Heavy Rain. I hope they can tell a better story this time around though. Don't disappoint me Quantic Dream.

8. Sly Cooper 4
Finally! A cartoony jump'n'run that's not called Mario! Remember those?!

9. Dead Space 3
I will wait what GAF says about this one...

10. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
A possible reason to buy a Wii U as I've never played it.

I left out The Last Guardian and Final Fantasy Versus XIII for obvious reasons.

Will buys:

Etrian Odyssey 4

Preordered, awaiting with ever-quickening breaths

Shin Megami Tensei 4

Samurai, postapocalyptic Tokyo, Demonica soldiers, cyberpunk WUT IZ HAPPENING.

Bioshock infinite

There exist still some small hidey holes where intelligent video game narratives can find safety from Dumb Down Dogma, and I hope this found it.

Pokemon X/Y

New Pokefan at the tender age of 35.

Tales of Xillia

Gots to have dat fightin'.

Ni No Kuni

Will find time to play this beast.

Dark Souls 2

Do. Not. Fuck. This. Up. Shibuya. DO. NOT.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle

Another new love.

May buys, so they must prove themselves:

Last of Us

I realized recently that I have a fascination with postapocalyptic gaming after thinking I didn't as Fallout leaves me cold. That said, LoU must have that feel from gameplay, not from the game bashing me over the head with it narratively only.

Project X Zone

Don't do what NxC did. That's all it takes.

Fire Emblem Awakening

Going to have to get over the wierdly indistinct Generime art if I'm to buy it.

TitS:SC/TC/Zero/Ao/Sen

Meanwhile, back in the real world....

If I buy a Wii U:

Wonderful 101
SMTxFE
Xenoblade 2

No Soul Hackers? Sadface.

- Pikmin 3. Most awaited, certainly: Pikmin 2 is one of my favourite all-time games.

Hope they do an orchestral soundtrack for it, too. Would be a perfect fit.

- Rayman Legends

Hoping it matches Origins.

- Soul Sacrifice
- Monster Hunter 4
- W101
- Bioshock Infinite
- Puppeteer

I would list Dark Souls 2, but I doubt it'll see release this year.

2013 is the year of Platinum Games.

My list, in no particular order...

5. GTA V

I always love the soundtracks for GTA games. I'll be interested to see what Rockstar North are doing with this one. I still question the choice of putting in 3 male main characters but we'll see how they pull it off..

Regarding the music:
The music is still very present?

Of cours. As usual, a lot of of music to listen to. But, this time, there is a big difference : We've made an interactive original sound track
who comes with particular moments : When you drive in a car chase, either you fail or you escape. The music will be different in each case.
source.

Regarding the three characters, i was kinda bummed by it too, but Houser explained several times how these three characters are a deconstruction of the typical GTA "hero", so it makes sense.

1. Bioshock Infinite
2. Grand Theft Auto V
3. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes
4. Pikmin 3
5. Beyond: Two Souls
6. Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

If they make 2013: Wind Waker HD, Yoshi's Land, Thief 4

X
DQ: X
FF XIV 2.0
Pikmin 3
Pokemon X/Y
Animal Crossing
Mario 3D
Bravely Default (not that this is confirmed)

The first 3 of those are in order, the rest not so much. Pretty much excited for most of Nintendo's major releases this year. Dota2's official release might also be cool. Excited for that.

wait, is X coming out this year? Why are people putting it as their choice?

outside of the spring titles, it's the only thing we even have footage of yet. it was also in their financials recently under "A new game from Monolith Studios", whereas titles that were in similar positions, such as Retro's title which was also announced did not get listed. It all points to it coming soon.

1. Grand Theft Auto 5
2. Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeros
3. The Last of Us

Whatever Next-gen titles are announced

These three mentioned are automatic first day purchases for me.

Will Buy:

Pikmin 3
Civilization V: One World (yeah, not technically announced yet, but it's going to happen)
3D Mario and Mario Kart (if either is out this year)
Broken Sword V (already bought via Kickstarter)
Planetary Annihilation (same as above)

Might Buy:

SimCity
The Wonderful 101
Yarn Yoshi
Wind Waker HD
Game & Wario

I see now, thanks for the reply. G'damn, now I feel to edit my list!

if this really comes out this year...:0

All those damn kickstarters, that's what!

Wasteland 2
Double Fine Adventure
Jane Jensen's Moebius
Tex Murphy: Project Fedora

and so on.

If Shin Megami Tensei Iv comes out in America this year, then definitely that.

Also:

- The Last of Us
- God of War Ascension
- Luigi Mansion 2
- Dark Souls 2
- Bioshock Infinite
- Tomb Raider
- Bayonetta 2
- GTA 5

1. Pikmin 3
2. Wind Waker HD
3. Deadly Premonition Director's Cut
4. Luigi's Mansion 2
5. Bioshock Infinite
6. Aliens Colonial Marines
7. The Wonderful 101
8. Pokemon X/Y
9. Bayonetta 2
10. Mario Kart U

Really, I only want 6 big games.

1. Pokemon X/Y
2. Fire Emblem Awakening
3. Animal Crossing: New Leaf
4. BioShock Infinite
5. The Last of Us
6. Grand Theft Auto V

I already bought Ni No Kuni this year, and if The Last Guardian ever does come out, then I will definitely get it.

Bioshock Infinite
Amnesia: a Machine for Pigs
South Park
Witness
Sir, You Are Being Hunted
Gone Home
Monaco: What's Yours is Mine
Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Killer is Dead
Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut

Honourable mention: Kickstarter tears of disappointment

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeros
Phantasy Star Online 2
The Last of Us
The Last Guardian
Metal Gear: Rising
Bioshock: Infinite
Grand Theft Auto V

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2
Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2

Interested in both of these because I love Musou games. Currently playing through the first Pirate Warriors game.

Beyond: Two Souls

Always willing to support Quantic Dreams, their games are always interesting and I can't believe they get such huge budgets to do such quirky stuff. The addition of Ellen Page means we will get great acting from an actual native English speaker this time, too! ;)

Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney

The reason I bought a 3DS XL. 'Nuff said.

Tales of Xillia

Giddy about finally playing another big budget Tales game, so sad that so few entries in this series ever get localized.

Project X Zone

I never would have thought this game would get localized. Another reason to be happy about owning a 3DS XL. :)

God of War Ascension

These games are always ridiculously gory, but the graphics and solid gameplay keep pulling me back. Multiplayer in this one reminds me of Power Stone, which I love.

Other titles:
Atelier Ayesha
Neptunia V
Yakuza 5 (fingers crossed)
Killer is Dead
Metal Gear Rising
Deadly Premonition DC
South Park Stick of Truth
Last of Us

Is this being localized for English audiences? I thought it looked a bit janky at first but by the end it looked like a lot of fun. Enemies are uncomfortably creepy!

Seems so. They're calling it EDF 2025 in NA. I haven't played any of the games since it was a mere Simple2000 series on the ps2, so I'm pretty excited! It's the best kind of jank. :)

6. Grand Theft Auto V (might be the last 360 game I get, if I get it)
5. Soul Sacrifice
4. Pikmin 3 ( but I have not Wii U :( )
3. Fire Emblem Awakening
2. Animal Crossing New Leaf
1. Pokemon XY

In no particular order
  • Ni no Kuni
  • Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
  • Bioshock Infinite
  • The Last of Us
  • Deadly Premonition Director's Cut
  • Killer is Dead (if it's localized this year)
  • Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeros (if it's released this year on current gen)
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Beyond Two Souls
  • Yakuza 5 (if it's localized this year, seems unlikely though)
  • Dark Souls 2 (Maybe)

No clue really. I do not really pay attention to stuff to far in the future. That said:

Bioshock Infinite
Double Fine Adventure
Dead State

and Witcher 3 if that is actually this year.

In no particular order;

Splinter Cell Blacklist
GTA V
Pokemon X/Y
The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD
The Last of Us
Bioshock Infinite
Aliens: Colonial Marines

The Last Guardian tops everything else. Alas, it might never come out... :(

Realistic list

1- The Last of Us
2- Watch Dogs
3- Dark Souls 2
4- Bioshock Infinite
5- GOW Ascencion
6- Beyond : Two Souls
7- The Wonderful 101
8- The Monolith Project
9- Pupeteer and Tearaway
10- GTA5

Has there been any word at all about Fist of the North Star being localized in NA for Wii U? iirc, it's hitting EU eshop...right?

edit: you know what, there's probably a better place to ask that. I just noticed a few people listing it and got curious.
