I was watching me and my momma was watching this episode of Game Grumps and they saw an Easter Island head in a game and wondered why they were in a bunch of games.

I remember playing Nemesis for the Game Boy and there was a level with Moai heads.

You had to shoot the shit out of them to blow them up.

Do they actually show up in a bunch of games? If so, I wonder why...

Moai appear a lot in Japan. I have seen a few different Moai statues outside of businesses. I have taught about Moai from the textbook in my English lessons. You'll notice that most of the screen shots on the first page were all from Japanese games and, we all know, Japanese people loves their characters!

Moai was probably the first character for Japanese people. (笑）

In Metal Gear Solid 2, there are moai heads hidden everywhere in cramped spaces and curious locations. The challenge was to find them and take a picture of them.
In MGS4 they were also present link
(Most Konami games have moai heads in hommage to Gradius.)

In Animal crossing they are a regular item that you can use in your home like in the Gamecube version : video And in Animal Crossing new leaf, you can build a Moai head as a community project in your town.
