maybe sony is giving tri-ace some work and this is an evolution of frontier gate
With a Star Ocean battle system!
why'd I do that to myself

I'm seriously hoping its a JRPG, that setting seems ripe for it to be one.
Its also the one genre that Sony has pretty much nothing for iirc (even though its highly popular in Japan).
The trailer did nothing for me. Just finish TLG, stop splitting resources!
dat cold bloodFor Microsoft employees, the day they unveiled the new Xbox was one of the most important days of their lives. But for Japan ... it was Tuesday.
It's not a lack of trying. Wild ARMs was their biggest one in terms of releases but never truly caught on, and fizzled out rather than growing with each successive entry. Monster Kingdom was a complete bust, and the White Knight Chronicle games are not considered to be good.
I couldn't really disagree more. I loved the visuals and the music, and I'm particularly excited about the setting and how unabashedly over-the-top it is.
I'd be hyped to high heavens about this if it wasn't most likely another hunting game.

Yeah but its not like they were amazing games that just didn't do well. I pretty much never hear anything positive about WKC for example.
What's this referencing again? Forgive me I'm tired...

The lack of facial expressions on the characters during dramatic moments in the trailer was just hilariously sad. Combine that with the bad direction and generic-mech-vs-party scene and the game just looks very insipid.
I'm not really seeing what people are excited about, but everyone is entitled to their opinions so ok.

looks like a new commercial for vita. Wish I could understand what he is saying
Street Fighter movie.
Xbox = LOL in Japan.
Can't watch right now, does that confirm Panopticon for Vita?
Is this the JRPG we've all been dreaming of?
If anything SCEJ's output has worsened:
2006:
Tourist Trophy - We'll consider PD SCEJ bc we consider ND and GG SCEA and SCEE respectively
Siren 2
LocoRoco
2013:
Puppeteer
Rain - Wiki says SCEJ is co developing so I'll leave it here, otherwise, remove it
Gran Turismo 6
Over My Dead Body 2 (?) - not sure if SCEJ is developing this or not
Knack (?)
I'm comparing these two years because they both had a young handheld, an aging home console, and a successor in the immediate future to support. Their output has declined dramatically.

What lack of facial expressions? There are characters who look frightened when the cops show up and arrest that guy. That guy getting arrested obviously showed signs of discomfort, same with the woman in labor.
The only character that didn't show any emotions when she should have was the robot. But she's, y'know, a robot.
Lack of facial expressions as in, there's no discernible human-like emotions shown on the faces of the characters. Their reactions are mechanical and the characters look like humanoid plastic dolls forced into motion.
Except they're not and I just gave three examples of discernible human-like emotions shown.
Here's a thread about it.
And what I'm saying is that I disagree with you and that they don't look human-like at all.
So you couldn't discern that the woman in labor was in pain? Okay...
I filtered the 2006 list by removing demos, crap games, games developed externally, or games I simply had no idea what the hell they were.
Bison? Van Damme? The former I think but I'm unsure

Please, for the love of Christ, come to North America!
SCEJ games always make it to the west
Sony trying to steal that MS thunder and getting dirty, I love it!
looks vita
MH x Lost Planet 2 x God Eater nice

I find it fascinating that SCEJ's output is getting better after a Westerner took over and brought in Western talent to head projects. Both Knack and Puppeteer are led by western people. Is the talent pool in Japan drying up that badly? I suppose there is a noticeable lack of fostering young developers over there, as evident by the lack of a good indie scene. What are teens going into? Engineering and accounting instead?
Just in case any of you missed this earlier - great trailer! #Panopticon
