New to twitter but found this guy...

@PatrickSderlund

PATRICK SÖDERLUND - EA Vice President of games

I checked his followers & tweets he looks legit to me.

Kuchera thinks he has it bad. I have to go to work soon and will have to update the OP on Internet Explorer.

This is my cross to bear. For the people!

Can you make a "mainstream media" section? It could drive the numbers way up if someone actually picks it up.

@YahooNewsTech
@guardiantech
@dutchvowels (Editor at The Huffington Post, wrote about Xbox one's DRM and the Sim City fiasco)

wasn't there a rumor about them going MS exclusive?

No basis for it, other than the fact that they will not announce support for the Xbox One officially yet so by that logic it could equally mean they decided to go PS4 exclusive. (neither are likely)

Can we get the witcher guys?

Aren't they suppose to be very vocally anti DRM

"Tomaszkiewicz says that CDP is committed to a DRM free policy. Nor will they implement any kind of “always-online” system.

“In my opinion,” Tomaszkiewicz tells me, “DRM is the worst thing in the gaming industry. It’s limiting our rights to play games owned by us. Let’s imagine that you have a game that requires internet connection to prove that you actually bought it. What if you lose your connection because of your internet provider? You can’t play anymore. It is worth mentioning that many people in Poland or even in the US and other countries still don’t have an internet connection or have a very slow one. I was in such a situation once and I really didn’t understand why I couldn’t play games that I had bought. I believe that as long as people feel that companies are cheating them by selling games they cannot play freely, limiting their rights, and making unfair DRM, then they will fight against that.”

Repost with the link. Ill see if I can find any of these guys On twitter

To add more to CD Project Red being anti DRM.

Speaking at GDC 2012 today, CD Project Red CEO Marcin Iwinski declared that the developer behind the Witcher games would never use digital rights management to protect its games.

"Every subsequent game we will never use any DRM anymore, it's just over-complicating things," Iwinski said. His presentation was hinged on how the Polish publisher sold over a million copies of the game on a modest budget.

Great discussion on the latest Weekend Confirmed and Andrea Rene brought up an interesting concept (around the 83 minute mark):

Would consumers potentially be okay with a 'window strategy'? The thought is that games come out new and locked for a 60 day window and then afterward you can sell it, buy it used or rent it via secondary markets (gamefly, resale, etc).

This is currently what movies do, where they hit theaters and then they go to various secondary markets after the initial theatrical release.

Shouldnt we be doing this for Xbox as well?

The thing I wish for most is for xbone to ban used and PS4 not to. That would be a great econosocial experiment.

Wait, you're going to bug people at EA? The people behind the Online Pass and SimCity? I think you might be barking up the wrong tree there.

Not really. They announced their position, Sony hasn't. If they matters then MS will follow or pay for it in the months ahead. Focused effort.

This, plus Microsoft would have to be completely oblivious to not notice the anger directed towards them and the pleading directed towards Sony.

At this point, the outcry is pretty much getting the message to everyone. It's just honed in on Sony, because it seems their decision remains up in the air.

well, interesting maybe, but not good for consumers in any kind. we need competition

Has it? Their policies are still in limbo, allegedly (thought they may just be putting off the inevitable). I think they're fully aware of the PR mess that they've created.

they have had enough time since the earlier leaks and the Adam Orth incident to reconsider their stance, the X1s reveal showed, at least to me, where their interests truly lies
