Does Steam have a "save anytime" feature? I am trying to play Tomb Raider 2 on my PS3 but it is very hard. On the HD TV a lot of the textures are quite blurry leading to me misjudging jumps and dying. Since there are save points that will often put me back 15 minutes or so. I was wondering if I get the Steam version if I can just save when I want to.

It has nothing to do with Steam and everything to do with the game in question. Most PC games have Quicksave functionality, but I can't speak to Tomb Raider 2.

First one had this feature, can't think why the second wouldn't.

Console versions had weird save crystals, glorious PC master race didn't need to deal with that crud though.

Thanks. Maybe it doesn't have the stupid save crystals. I didn't even think of that. I will Google it.

that awkward moment when you wake up and it's your birthday. Was really hoping Gaben would bless me with a present of 27 Dota2 invites.

I was disappointed.

$16 is steambux....what do I buy GAF?

Takers you're welcome!

I'm sorry for Stumpokapow and LorDjidane... that bad habit some users got to take keys without saying anything... :/

Seriously, play it. As far as arcade type fps go only had as much fun with Painkiller. Adding to this it looks absolutly stuning in some places, prove that you don't need colosal budgets for amazing looking games.

For real?

I heard mixed comments about hard reset. Too bad I missed the key, gonna wait till summer sale to try it out.

Hard Reset is better than Painkiller because it doesn't overstay it's welcome and it's art/visual theme is infinitely superior.

It also has a wonderful bite-size expansion that is free and is actually better than the main game, unlike the Painkiller expansions which got progressively worse.

I have like 40 games or so to give away from the last 2 years of buying bundles... I'm just so lazy to figure out keys I've used and haven't used. Is there a simple way for me to test them out? I don't want to look like an ass. I guess I could put a forewarning and put a list up.

I'd say don't bother yourself and just put everything. I wouldn't understand people calling you an ass for giving 40 keys in the middle of 40+ keys. It'll be a trial&error game. :D

Hard Reset is definitely worth a go, really fun game. Not as good as Painkiller but still well worth playing.

The only way to check if they've been used would be to use Steam's account retrieval system:

Steam -> Change user -> Retrieve account info -> I don't know my account name -> I remember the product code I used

Unlike the product code activation form, however, this form doesn't validate the key (even typing in gibberish results in the "An e-mail has been sent ..." screen), so you'll need to check your inbox each and every time your input a code; if you don't get an e-mail, then it hasn't been activated. It's a fair bit of work for little gain, so I agree with LorDjidane -- just give away all the keys while noting that some of them may already have been used.

Why is Baldur's gate EE so goddamn expensive? Are they make that much money from this?

It was available at Amazon for under $7 until yesterday. From what I hear, it's better to get a DRM free copy on gog.com or Gamersgate and just mod that instead.

Xelios just gifted me a copy of Dust out of the blue. Really nice of him. Thanks dude!

Agreed. But it is also really, really hard (or my FPS skills have declined since the late 90's which is also possible). And to this day I still do not get the story with all the crazy talk during the loading screens, and the Extended Edition did not help me much in this regard.

But games like Hard Reset make me kinda warm and fuzzy with nostalgia, I am looking forward to the Shadow Warrior and Rise of the Triad remakes.

Just spreading an awesome game. Was looking through my gifts this morning and was reminded you gifted me quite a bit over the past few months. =p

Thread carefuly. The game starts getting in to the "flow" when you have some upgrades down the line. Plus the least interesting level is, as far as my opinion goes, the first one.

But you'll just invest 2/3 dollars and maybe 2 hours to know if the games hooks you up.

Hard Reset is incredible. I personally would rank it up higher than Painkiller but honestly haven't played either game in a good while.
Anyone comment on Hard Reset free DLC? Do I have to play through the game again to access it or is it stand alone stuff?

It's separate so you don't have to play through the game again. Definitely worth checking out. The levels are pretty damn gorgeous and it's only another 2-3 hours worth of gameplay so it's not a big commitment.

It continues the story after the abrupt ending of the game after the second boss. Takes place outside of the cyberpunk city though so it looks more like Mad Max rather than Bladerunner.

Well shit, I forgot about the expansion, must have played it before it updated. I do looooove the sound of it taking place outside the city as well.

So did Hard Reset acomplished it's goals? In the sense are the devs happy with the sales, will they continue the franchise or at least give a new proyect greenlight?

I'm looking at the Get Loaded bundle. I've never played a Civ game; I've only ever played Alpha Centauri.

Should I get Civ IV: Complete or Civ V?

That's a tough call. Civ IV is still the king but Civ V has made a lot of strides with the Gods and Kings Expansion.

If you get Civ V make sure to grab Gods and Kings with it.

Civ 4 Beyond The Sword expansion has a tile set and scenario similar to Alpha Centurai IIRC.

In that case, I'll wait until Civ V Complete is cheaper. I also realized that Civ IV will probably run better on my laptop. Thanks for the help.

Oh hell yes

Flying Wild Hog is currently working on the Shadow Warrior remake, so Devolver must have been pleased, at least. Plus, the game surely did well enough to justify the release of the Extended Edition.

Not sure about the first part but as for a new project I think they're currently working on a Shadow Warrior game.
