The final arc was an alien invasion by giants with multiple eyes. They abducted multiple humans to use as snacks or something.
There's multiple chapters of Kurono chasing after Tae and both of them yelling for each other a/la InuYasha, it's sloooow.
The psychic kid dies, Reika dies, on the mothership is some God like being that reveals humans are nothing but data and proves this by bringing back four of Kurono's friends and immediately killing them. It was so fucking stupid.
The final chapter has Kurono and Kato return to Earth alive and reunite with their loved ones. Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Well shit, they didn't touch upon Zheng's backstory or the assassin plot at all in the adaptation. A shame too as they both seem to be incredibly important moments of character development for two of the major characters. Definitely looking forward to what happens next with this assassination attempt.

Oh hey, speaking of the devil, a new Yankee-kun to Megane-chan chapter just got released. I have no idea what's going on anymore since it has been forever since the last chapter but I assume that guy is Kairi's tutor and she is secretly cramming in order to get to the same university as this Akita dude?

And I'm really not sure what people were expecting, there. The ending (which pretty much is that of Muteki Chôjin Zambot 3, incidentally) didn't strike me as particularly worse than the shit that came before. Gantz was an idiotic series from the very beginning.

Honestly though, I'd be totally down with this turning into a far more serious take on water polo though so hopefully they get rid of the lazy pervs sans that one beefed up guy that actually does shit.

Sure, Gantz was idiotic (the good kind of idiotic) but never before it betrayed so much the very concepts that made it appealing in the first place.
One of the best things about the series was how anyone could die at any given time. How everything had consequences.
Suddenly the guy who wasted the last hundred chapters on the same arc (and the last five in a one on one fight) chooses to end the series in literally six pages with a happy, cliched ending that doesn't answer any questions.
It wasn't the ending Gantz deserved. I'd take anything over what we got.

On one hand, it is pretty silly that we're putting a stop to the whole cramming at the cram school plot to focus on some secondary characters we haven't seen in ages.
On the other hand, I do love the characters Kairi and Akita so I welcome it. Pretty nice to see that Daichi was basically the reason they were together so I guess there should a nice end result out of this sidequest.

Yup, who wasn't actually the same person but a perfect copy with their memories, which caused scenarios like the same person existing twice at the same time, fucking up their heads.

Sure, but I don't expect them to suddenly become good at the end.
That never really mattered though. Revived people were treated as the real deal (and why not, really, if they're perfect copies?), and the author didn't do anything interesting with the two instances where characters got duplicated (unless getting a pair of tits in the main character's apartment is considered "interesting", I guess).
I'm not making fun of you. Like I said, I just don't know what people were expecting.

Receiving more manga today, I guess. Joining the artbook collection is Soul Eater Soul Art. Impressed that Yen Press gave it that cover jacket thing and that it is also Hardcover. Love it instantly. And of course more Gundam Origin (reading, oh and preorder v5), and this months Fairy Tail.
I guess I just expected a bit of consistency with the tone of every single thing that came before, and the ending didn't deliver that.
Seriously, at least half of this last arc were just reaction shots of different cities around the world gathering in public (for some awful reason) to cry and jeer and yell while watching this. I don't want to read 12 pages of reaction shots.
Also, I've been gone for a bit. Have I missed any more ManGAF darlings like Magi/Molester Man/Onepunch Man/Swagamoto? I've been itching for something new to read.

It doesn't really rise above the premise, but it's the first time I've seen a book about a younger girl hooking up with an older guy where the guy isn't a teacher, so I figured it was worth mentioning. It's funny how this is okay if it's from the point of view of the girl and the book is aimed at girls though. lol
