Walkers, owned by PepsiCo Inc. (which also owns US crisp producer Frito-Lay), holds a 47% share of the British crisp market, with sales of $85 billion per year. The Walkers site in Leicester produces over 11 million bags of crisps per day, using about 800t of potatoes (280,000t per year).

Fuck yeah Ketchup chips!! Good job UK, Canada approves. But it should be higher up on the list.

what is "ready salted"? In America our "normal" chips are covered in salt with no additional flavorst... is this the same thing?

The Pickled Onion ones are awesome, far and away my favourite, but really hard to find outside of supermarkets. Most shops just have Ready Salted, C&O and S&V and maybe one or two others.

They still don't come close to Pickled Onion Monster Munch from the 80s/90s. Might be the strongest flavour of any crisp I've ever tasted, it was like there was w whole bottle of vinegar in each bite (which was strangely awesome). They dialled them back at some point in both size and flavour, and haven't been the same since.

Ketchup flavour crisps are awful, I've yet to taste a good one, and it's easily the worst crisp flavour available.

Edit:

Only sour cream and onion I've tasted is Pringles. Fairly similar to cheese & onion, and both are god-tier flavours for me.

Yes, Ready Salted are just your standard regular crisps.

So I get the chips = crisps thing.

But what I don't get is calling cookies biscuits. What do Brits call biscuits? Are they just caught under the umbrella of "scones?"

My favourite crisps Walkers used to make, then they went black packet and are a mare to find, they are awesome tho

Vinegar and Salt is the best, but I find that Lays (umm...Walkers) is a bit too light on the vinegar. I want my mouth to ache in regret from the acid burn after eating V&S chips.

This has been covered many times, but basically Britain does not have American style biscuits. Scones are fairly similar in appearance but ultimately a different kind of food. Thus there is no confusion arising from calling biscuits biscuits.

Ready salted is the best by far.

I'll accept salt and vinegar. Cheese and Onion is for madmen. Prawn Cocktail is worse than Hitler.

WHAT!!??? Why have I never seen these anywhere? I MUST HAVE THEM NOW.

Also, seeing it written 'Vinegar & Salt' is really jarring, it makes my brain ache. It's like talking about Hardy & Laurel, Clyde & Bonnie or Clank & Ratchet. It's just wrong.

Prawn cocktail and awesome, Pringles make the best Prawn Cocktail crisps, after marmite they are my second fave.

yeah I can't even write the salt and vinegar the other way round, my brain isn't capable.

Ready Salted is just regular right? Seems like such a drawn out way to phrase that.

Prawn cocktail sounds disgusting, and chicken seems like an odd choice.

Tomato Ketchup, I didn't know they were on sale anymore. Huh.

Salt & Vinegar is I guess my go to flavour, but I do like prawn cocktail a lot.
