Jack Tretton: "[PS4] Production yields have been fantastic"

Clearly the chart had a two word maximum, geez guys.

I could see those numbers being accurate though, the Wii U should pick up next year with Smash Bros, Mario Kart, etc and continue getting better after more price drops and mainline Mario/Zelda games come out.

That's rather optimistic if there's a big gap between Smash Brothers and Mario Kart, and mainline Mario and Zelda titles with nothing inbetween.

Lol I wonder how Yoshida-san feels about being Black Widow.

so no one else noticed that the chart says said Wii instead of Wii U?

And people say the Wii-U name isn't a hindrance for this console...

Oh and I noticed it just says "Xbox" as well. See, numerical sequences are key when naming your successor system as the same name as the previous system. You can go from Nintendo 64 to Nintendo Gamecube to Nintendo Wii just fine. But slapping a "U" after Wii doesn't tell people it's a new thing. You can go from Xbox to Xbox 360, but now Xbox One...not even using a number anymore. Fox Business obviously has no clue what to call it.

PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4.

Or put a name after it that sounds friggen new. Like Gameboy...ADVANCE. What does the "U" stand for?

I think as far as heat and everything goes consoles will be fine. I still expect disc read errors in 4-5 years.

Some of those issues are an inevitable wear and tear thing, but both new consoles will be using their disc drives a lot less thanks to automatic installation.

You can really tell Sony wants to give numbers just so they can brag about what they already know behind the scenes but we have to wait for that come launch.

I don't think so, Disc drives will hardly be working this generation, Put a game in, it installs as you play for 30 minutes or so, the rest of the time the disc doesn't do anything except DRM checks. Same for both consoles, also with IGC and PS+ reuired for online, there will certainly be more digital gaming this gen.

Yeah HDD's will likely be the most common failure point assuming there isn't a component with a unnaturally high failure rate

Yep, providing there is nothing that pops up out of the ordinary like a cheap spring or bad solder, then the HDD should be the most common failures, which is another plus point for Sony and their changeable HDD, damn those guys have had everything go there way this gen.

off-topic but quick question, why is Machinama's youtube channel spreading some fake rumor about PS4 not being able to upload to youtube when it was already officially stated as possible.

Hey I just saw that as well. Wasn't sure if it was true or not being machinima...

Pretty sure they lurk here a lot from what those guys post.

The Graph projections have Nintendo listed as the Wii. Mainstream media still doesn't know Wii U is a next gen console!
