Hopefully the patch makes it for the 13th. Gives me to time to up a few alts. This is pretty weird by Blizzard, they rarely give out date releases for patch updates.

Damn....2.3 is happening a lot sooner than I ever thought it would. I've only got about 25K honor points banked -- I guess I'd better get to crackin' for that Season 1 gear.
Yeah I don't have nearly as much as I planned to have, heh.

I did the math the other day and I'd need about 180k honor total to get all the Season 1 gear. Awesome. I think it's a given I'll never get all that. I can't stand doing BGs other than AV. And even AV will get REALLY old before I reach all the honor I need (not to mention the tokens I need from AB, WSG, and EOTS).

If only I liked arena, or at the very least had a reliable team.

There is no reason for there to be a Prot warrior (who apparently doesn't have access to a DPS warrior with Imp. TC and 2/5 Imp Demo Shout) NOT to have those talents. Damage will only get crazier from Prince on out, so he better learn now. And if doing TC every ~30 seconds is going to cause an aggro wipe, he better start learning better rotations.

Oh, and Wind Trader's Band for all your pre-epic +Hit tanking needs.

It's only like 65K for the Gladiator's armor. Every class can have an epic weapon crafted, if they want one.....so not much need for that.

it's funny because I was telling some of my wow friends that I'd renew this weekend probably, since it's when I clear some big assignments. so I'll probably get my orc shaman to level 20 already and pick up some good 2h axes/maces so I can grind better, and then start the whole horrible 30-60 grind after 2.3.

Yeah but I mean for ALL the gear. Including the non-set stuff.

And yeah I can make my epic gun (I'm a hunter engineer), but the Gladiator's Heavy Crossbow is better, and it's much easier to get. No need to run a heroic for the mere chance at a primal nether and the opportunity to go farming for all the mats or spend a bunch of money on AH for the mats and then make the gun.

Then again it does have a yellow gem slot, which would finally let me get a Swift Skyfire Diamond for my goggles.

But if I get the Gladiator Gear (minus the helm, since you only need four of the pieces to get the set bonuses and the goggles are good enough for now, and besides, they look so much cooler, being goggles and all (if only I could craft an eyepatch... that'd be hot shit)), I won't need the gun, which means the crossbow is better again.

Of course, guns are more awesome than crossbows, so...

...Yes, I've thought way too much about this.

I have my honor maxed out on my rogue at 75k. I plan on buying all 5 pieces of armor which comes to 55250 honor as long as its the same as it was on the ptr a couple weeks ago. I'm also gonna ditch mutilate and buy the mh mace for 18k honor and then farm 9k honor asap for the oh mace. I've also saved up my mats for 2x mongoose =) My lock is screwed at only 20k honor though ><

So there was a thread on the rogue forums where a few posters compiled a list of problems for the rogue class at level 70 about how finishers don't scale, the mobility buffs the blues promised us are lackluster at best, and lack of buffs or utility. The thread reached 3000 posts. All they said was "We'll look into it."

Mages QQed about hypothermia being extended to 45 seconds and all of a sudden iceblock is going to be a trainable talent for all mages.

Logic am fail.

we'll look into it = we'll probably have one pre-alpha version of a patch where every class is awesome, then once it reaches tigole and/or kalgan it will get nerfed so everyone sucks unless they are a warrior/warlock, before it even gets put on a bigger internal test server, much less the PTR.

Are you kidding me?

Hahahahaha

No way in hell I would have anticipated that.

Why do people keep saying that it's only 55K honor for the set?

Code:
Gladiator's Armor Breastplate 14500
Gladiator's Armor Gauntlets 10500
Gladiator's Armor Helm 14500
Gladiator's Armor Leggings 14500
Gladiator's Armor Shoulders 11250

Plus another 8000 for the throwing weapon...which means you have to essentially cap out your honor to get the set.

Yeah I was gonna say.. what the hell. He's not even Beast Mastery spec to help with Mend Pet maybe, so why the fuck has he got it there :lol

Only thing I can think of is that he needs the mp5.

I'd HOPE that isn't him. I'd hate to see him pitching another excellent game in the WS or see his retirement speech and be forced to think "huntard" during it. :lol

Actually, even if he was BM, +healing no longer affects Mend Pet. Not after that dorf BM hunter solo'd Azuregos. Blizzard patched that up right quick.

Yea I read that thread a while ago. Now there's the 'Blizzard, you've broken rogues' thread which has reached about 5000 posts.

Holy crap not only did they make Ice Block a trainable skill, but the CD is back to 30 seconds.

And once again, this is all done for the sake of Arenas ("We thought mages were too susceptible to focus fire"). When do warlocks get their magical invulnerability spell? =P

Mages always get toyed with, but going by what the blue said this ice block being trainable probably won't make it in time for 2.3

I assume border means the cooldown on ice barrier is going down to 30 seconds, and not ice block.

No, the debuff "hypothermia" you get from using ice block that prevents you from iceblocking again is being toned down back to 30 seconds. Originally there was no debuff, then it was 30 seconds, then on the PTR it was bumped up to 45 seconds, then mages QQed and now all mages are getting iceblock as a trainable ability in the near future as well as the hypothermia debuff only lasting 30 seconds again.

I just installed WoW for the first time in 2 years, this is bad.

This is bad. This is bad. This is bad. This is bad. This is bad.

Fuck.

Why am I doing this!

wow, I didn't realize they were de-nerfing the hypothermia cooldown. that sucks for people who go up against mages. I don't think it can be mass dispelled either, though maybe I'm wrong on that.

I can't really complain though because I'd rather see very class be an OP killing machine than everyone be gimp as hell and get nerfed.

Finally getting back into this after a year off. Starting off fresh with a Blood Elf priest. Good times. I noticed 2.3 tries to download in the background after logging out of WoW after playing yesterday. It's painfully slow, though (at least for me). Anyone else having difficulty downloading the patch, or is my computer just being a jerk? o_O

It was very fast for me.

So for 2.3, do mobs pre Outland get an XP buff for kills, or is it just the levels themselves getting their XP reduced? Same question applies to quests...?

Xp required to level is reduced a bit and xp gained from turning in quests is increased. Xp from killing mobs has not changed.

I renewed a couple nights ago and my shaman has gone up to level 16 after like 12 hours of playing time. Just trying to hit 20-22 by patch day, so I think I'll be in good shape. It's funny how much I absolutely owned in the BE zones, though. part of it is I have like 2x the hp of any blood elf class and the other part is just that the shaman skillset + all my dynamite from engineering at this low level is awesome for dealing with most of the monsters.

Wait until you get to Halaa in Nagrand and get to bomb the opposite faction.
Yeah if only people actually still did world PvP, then it might be fun.

Okay so maybe I'm being a little too negative, but really. It's 50% arena, 45% BG, 5% world PvP. Still, when Halaa PvP does happen, it's pretty fun.

But even without the world PvP, TBC leveling is so much more fun than Azeroth leveling. I really want to do it again, but I don't want to get to 58 to be able to do it, haha. Oops only two more days 'til 2.3!

sl/sl locks with 450 resilience, 13k hp are invulnerable to almost all classes :D

World PvP has been dead since roughly April/May 2005. It was one of the biggest reasons I quit WoW in the first place.

I know. Guess when I started playing. About a month before that.

Specifically for world PvP.

Love playing my warrior in the game. It's the only class that I've played which makes it a challenge in PvP to do good.

What? Really? Are you serious?

Charge -> Hamstring ->Bloodrage -> Mortal Strike -> Intercept -> Execute is challenging?

Started playing again because of patch 2.3. Been playing since the game first came out and I never even got to level 60... Hopefully, I'll be able to stick to one character and level him up to 70, but who knows... I'll probably end up with 6 more alts.

I rerolled an Orc Shaman too, but rather than firex's route I just stuck with Durotar. Level 15 atm after 7 hours and I seem to be enjoying it a lot more than I was with my Tauren Shaman. Maybe because I know how to properly play the class, I don't experience any mana downtime and the only times I am stopped is when I am bandaging myself. Although I know I'm not a Warrior, I know I can take on two mobs at a time with ease.

Should be fun leveling strictly Enhancement. With my other Shaman I was all over the place - Enhancement, Elemental, Resto, Elemental, Resto.. fucking nightmare when I look back at it :lol

I finally hit level 20 and did the god-awful water totem quest. I had to get the sapta twice since I died the first time cause my 2h mace skill was low and I didn't think to use searing totem.

but I had tons of fun in ghostlands... it did get tough near the end, but I soloed the elite troll quest in there with a bunch of LOS abuse. he's at the top of this troll hut with a giant center post, and if you keep moving around that center post while he casts lightning bolt, it screws up his LOS. So I'd just run around dropping searing totem in his face and blocking out his LOS, and meleeing back/forth with him while he'd chase me until he started casting again. The fight lasted forever and at the end the other mob up top respawned so I had to go all out and kill the named guy and loot him, then run away. but it was pretty funny.

even at this low level I'm noticing how much mana I use up, though. a lot of it is from shocks, but it's also from refreshing lightning shield and sometimes using totems. I'm glad 2.3 hits tomorrow, because I'm already having a blast and the lower xp + enhance buffs will just make it better. I still think I'll try elemental at 70, but if I do, it's going to be after I do some BG grinding for the season 1 elemental set/I get a bunch of other elemental gear with luck from running instances.

Being a warrior without high-end gear and without healing back-up is actually relatively difficult. That sequence of attacks is constantly interrupted by all manner of CC, unless you're fighting a rogue, warlock or huntard. And even dumb paladins will simply outlast you.
