Ever since the disastrous first reveal, I have to agree. The whole system seems cursed from the get-go. MS has managed to return some of that initial flack, but Xbone just seems like a considerably inferior product to PS4 in just about every regard.

that is what i understood reading from the last 2 pages too because these people don't want to tell us what is going on here . they want the fun alone lol

it seems some mod decided to speak up about the xbox one version and its causing shit storm.

also.. how the fuck Xbox one cant handle Ghosts @ full HD ? this game look like Xbox 360 1.5 .. fuck its not even 1.5. its Xbox 360 quality HD

Don't get me wrong. If the PS4 version is 1080p 60fps, and the Xbox One version is 720p 60fps, that's a very big fucking deal. Because as popular as it often is on GAF to ridicule COD (even though so many people still buy and play every game), this is a major, very high profile release, and even if I don't necessarily think it would filter down in any serious way to the mainstream, it would still be a surefire kick in the gut to the image of the system amongst the crowd that pays attention to every piece of news and checks forums, which is also important. And, believe it or not, even a lot of people that do pay attention don't know to separate games on a developer by developer, game engine by game engine basis, nor fully understand the different set of challenges that come with building a multi-platform game compared to an exclusive, and that makes the message being sent an even worse one. So, while it may not be the end of the world, it isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for the system if the rumor turns out true.

they sure bought the superior 360 versions over the PS3 versions of the game. but again, that could have just been because the 360 was cheaper.

Yup.

And the only people denying it are ones in denial. Anybody that would be able to shut down the rumors or disprove it has gone into hiding.

Today is a special Call of Duty event out in California, which is why this information got out.

I doubt it can be quite so bad.

OTOH, if ddr3 bandwidth into the gpu pipeline isn't sufficient, maybe texturing from and rendering to 32mb of memory isn't exactly a bed of roses and ends up reflecting in the resolution of the buffers and assets in that memory.

But I wouldn't have thought this version of CoD would be so demanding of read bandwidth. Unless the 'next gen' versions are very different in this regard from the PS3/360 revs.

Last generation the PS3 had the much better CPU but the Xbox 360 had the much better gaming GPU. So everything was pretty offset through the generation. 360 received the best multiplats and the PS3 had the best looking exclusives.

X1 has no advantage anywhere. Even utilizing the eSRAM you are barely getting the bandwidth of the main memory pipes of the PS4, just 250x less RAM to work with.

I really do not know what MS was thinking. Entering such a graphically intense generation as what is incoming and you release a system in late 2013 with this type of power potential? Ah man ... We were talking about 1080p back during the launch of the Xbox 360! Here we are 8 years later, and 1080p is not a reality on a brand new system, on a game that will likely run 1080p on a very mid range PC.

Well,

Zillions of Xbox Disciples are getting an XB1 and CoD:G for the XB1, just because the Xbox360 was the preferred console for CoD games and they figure the same would be true for the XB1!

TEE HEEE --- AS IT TURNS OUT....

It's APPEARS that the PS4 version of CoD:G is the PREFERRED CONSOLE BY INFINITY WARD, NOT THE XB1.

So, zillions of XB1 fans are in danger of being REALLY screwed by Microsoft's poor choice of console hardware. (well not zillions, more like 300,000 XB1 version of CoD:G pre-orders to be more precise)

But, this is just a guesstimation. Who the hell knows. Maybe Sony paid IW a ton of cash for the preview rights. /shrug.

Almost all of my friends are jumping ship to PS4. The only two that are sticking with MS are blatant fans of the Forza franchise. They just don't care as long as they get the new Forza. Good for them, I suppose.

Insider Thuway came in and basically said that Xbox One version would be running in 720p, then other insiders said they're waiting on secondary sources. Then Bish came in and said hes closing the door to his bomb shelter and leaving us all outside.

everyone will be buying new systems. I don't know anyone saying 'well I'm going to buy the same system I mostly played online on last gen, because of my friends list'. They'll buy what their friends are playing the game on, and judging from pre-orders that is more likely to be PS4.

although for this game, that's still going to be 360. but you get what I mean I expect. if the systems were backwards compatible, friends lists might have offered some leverage, but they aren't. so everyone is starting over, basically.

I think the type of people who buy consoles at launch are generally the more hardcore bunch so they will care. I don't think it will cause mass preorder cancellations or anything but they will care.

Argument: The mainstream crowd doesn't care about resolutions..
Counter argument: If the mainstream crowd hears that the game looks significantly better on the console that costs $100 less (even if they don't understand why), they may very well flock to that console.

Argument: People won't care, and will stick with the console their friends get (Xbox One).
Counter argument: The Xbox One has been an incredibly divisive system since the reveal, and a lot of people may very well jump ship from MS to Sony. In which case their friends may, too.
