I haven't been keeping up with the thread (just woke up.) But is there anything thats been concluded as one of the issues? Is it the sony event thing? Or are reviewers just not allowed to review Xbone stuff?

If this is about recording and editing vids I wonder why the outlets haven't caused more of a stink when it comes t Vita, there the situation is (was?) much worse. Some outlets complained, but nobody seemed to do anything more. If they'd all stand together, they could apply some pressure on whoever is bothering them.

Even if that was the case, it's not like GB is the only site for videos, and again it doesn't affect your playing of the games. Sucks for them, but not your problem. I am sure you have your own problems.For example I recently lost my job, I doubt Adam or anyone gives two fucks about it.

Well honestly I probably consume more videos about video games than playing games themselves. I am probably in the minority. I really enjoy watching people play games.

Why would they exist? If you were an investigative journalist, you should be able to find more interesting things to investigate than the silly things that are going on in the games industry. We have a lot of critics and reporters and "pundits" because video games are basically toys. Why do people take this shit so seriously?

That being said, I wish people would stop paying attention to games critic media and just value their opinions more and make their own decisions.

Both platforms are still being worked on and vigorously. The SW will continue to improve a lot post release but these guys talking about some things don't quite know what these companies are doing in terms of their decisions on certain aspects.

If I can connect online and play my games plus use my consoles then I will be happy.

Ohh, well, if that's the case, it's pretty shitty for the smaller sites/critics. They're being pressured to hurry and finish these up in the span of 2 days? That's...really shitty.

If it really is smaller sites crying about not getting launch review units and instead being offered the review days i cant see the problem. Its launch both ms and sony have alot of units they need for the market and cant see to it that every single outlet has a unit.

The SW and OS are still being worked on. Even if it was 100% they would still be working to improve it or add features. This just happens to be before launch. I expect things to be fine for launch on PS4 and hopefully Xbone's launch.

Of course we can, and we should.

I really don´t agree that we should accept it. We need to acknowledge it, and we need to point it out every time the gaming press is pretending to be something they are not, but we shouldn´t accept it for what it is and move on.

If people misunderstand, and take what we have today for real journalism, that is problem. It needs to be pointed out. The underlying, and much bigger problem is the actual state of gaming journalism though. The media plays a vital role in almost all business, an we both need and deserve someone looking after our interests in the gaming industry as well.

Is there an easy fix? Surely not. Does that mean we should accept the current state of affairs? No. What can we do about it? There is a thread on the subject, my main answer would be "hell if I know", but until we do know the least we can do is continue to put a well deserved focus on the problem.

He sent this to me by Steam Chat, give all credits to him since I do not seek any attention from you, good people. I'm just helping him and being a helpful member.

Here's what he wrote:

I can tell you that I contacted Sony Nordic PR and they told me that game reviewews and journalists were recommended to buy then PS4s themself to review PS4 games. The PS4 review event which is going on now is probably an event to solve this "journalists getting sendt PS4 devices before launch problem".
