Now on my way out to find a cheap 360 controller somewhere because the mouse/keyboard controls are indeed ridiculous for this game.

Also for those having trouble with GFWL and game crashing..here is what I did to fix mine.

-Uninstall both (Microsoft Game for Windows and Live Redistributable
Microsoft Game for Windows Marketplace) from your comp and than install the stuff again from this link.

The Black Mesa Mod is already out. It's incredible.

There is a paid version coming out, that reworks the graphics system further and will be the entire Half Life 1 game.

No, I'm just so deeply in love with the game that I willingly play it at ~2 fps so I can get pretty screenshots and play it at resolutions like 800x720 so I can make slow motion gifs.

Look up DSMfix (Dark Souls Mouse Fix).

It makes mouse and keyboard controls much more manageable. But - controller is absolutely the way to play it.
