January Wrasslin' |OT| The Assassination of Daniel Bryan by the Coward Vince McMahon

Vince isn't taking any vacations until he's in a casket of some kind.
In fact, he'll probably have RAW & the pay-per-views wired to a screen inside the casket so he can continue to book matches from beyond the grave for at least a couple years once he's in there.

Yeah, exactly.

Who will be the last two participants in EC? Any guesses?

I'd prefer Lesnar and a surprise of RVD (or the returning Christian). Maybe Jericho?

Knowing WWE, it'll probably be Ryback and Big Show.

Also, any rumors on what Christian will be doing moving forward?

You're right. The rest of the roster deserved the night off. Hell they deserve a nice long vacation after these rough few days.

In fact, why doesn't the rest of WWE take a vacation? Especially Vince. I hear Belize is nice this time of year.

Shitty sarcasm aside, Punk just had a somewhat recent break. Why are people pushing for him to have one so soon without giving a crap about the rest of the roster?

I think Lesnar is definitely one.

Last participant could be Bray Wyatt, Reigns or Big Slow. Or even CM Punk unless there is a CM Punk/Kane match. I just hope for anyone except Big Slow. You could put Reigns in there to sow the seeds of the Shield break up. Put Bray in there, and have Shield beat his ass at EC to set up a Shields/Wyatts match at Wrestlemania. I'm hoping for the latter, or CM Punk.

I liked most of the action on Raw, even with the hasty changes to storylines not always making sense. One too many screwball finishes for my taste.

WWE has the weirdest mentality I've ever seen.

If superstar is a roided up musclehead:

He's over? Push him! -> World Title

If superstar is anything other than a roided up musclehead:

He's over? Kill him! -> Beat him again! -> What do you mean he's still over? Kill him! -> Okay get HHH/Cena in there -> STILL over? Fuck, I guess we can push him -> WAIT! Kill him! -> STILL? Fine then -> World Title

Well here's the thing, I NEVER watch Raw without Wrassle Gaf (cheap pop) and just treat it like one long episode of Mystery Science Theater.

But yeah if anything, I'm really really on the 'not getting the Network' territory at this moment. I stay for the moments like Seth and Bryan tonight or Zeb and Cesaro being Zeb and Cesaro. I'm basically saying I like wrestling too much to completely abandon it.

I don't get how people who claim to only love old wrestling are now suddenly wanting to back out of the network. I dunno, people who only love the older product would seem to me like be the ones most interested in the network given the entire library of old stuff they're promising but I'm seeing a fair amount of people losing interest in the network because of the current product.

You might like TNA then.

Been watching that too. Not...quite as positive on that. Going to Europe will get those hot crowds though so at least the energy will be there.

You enjoyed Kofi vs. ADR? Seriously?

Yes! Some of the spots were pretty good! The crowd got into it and started cheering for Kofi!

Kofi should be the fifth man in the EC. Has a pinfall win against the current champion and hasn't lost a pinfall or submission to him this entire year.

People who use the current product as the reason behind not wanting to get the Network are people that still watch who don't want to give them any money. Seems like a good enough reason. How can you sleep at night complaining about their nonsense every week while paying them $120 a year? That's a traitor to the cause, and where I'm from we drive people like that out to the desert and drop em off in the dead of night.

They probably caught wind of how terrible last night show was and probably decided they didn't want to support WWE in it's current state even with the huge library.

Imagine if the network launched earlier, and an old school fan decided to watch the Royal Rumble last night. Even if he didn't know who was who, if they see fans of the current product booing the hell out of everyone in the ring, they might feel a little stupid that part of their 60 bucks are going towards a show like this. I probably wouldn't want to subscribe to them after that.

This is the kind of thing that shouldn't need to be explained.
It will amuse me that people will pay the WWE $120 a year and then expect Vince & company to listen to them when they complain about who's getting pushed.
If you open your wallet for the WWE Network unconditionally, you have forfeited any and all rights to complain.
Vince already has your money. He doesn't need to do shit to get it from you after that.

How was Raw tonight? I fast forwarded through 75% of it tonight...most of the matches didn't interest me when I saw the wrestlers in the ring.

Yup, there is a lot to be excited about with the network, but I'm not giving this company my money with the way things are right now.

Except maintain a product worth renewing the subscriptions for. You can always cancel and after the novelty of carte blanche wears off, all that's left are the 10-bucks-a-pop PPVs. If they aren't worth watching, Vince is going to wear his audience away through apathy.

Typical over reaction. For one, the network is a GOOD thing that the WWE is doing. It's a way for them to get their content to more people by offering it at a fair price. We should reward them for the good things they do, not boycott the network so they can drop it and go back to paying $55 or watching shitty streams.

The other thing is, WWE is actually pretty decent right now. Aside from the Bryan ball dropping, there are lots of things to look forward to. The Shield split and each of those guys in singles, hopefully a Cesaro split/push, the Wyatt Family. By all means if you aren't watching it don't buy the network, but if you are watching/streaming anyway you might as well support the good ideas that they occasionally have.

If you remember Daniel Bryan's first promo on nXt season 1. He said he was a self made man. He wasn't a product of WWE. Which is true for the most part. He's like the last great indie guy that could work as a heel or face. The Unmasked El Flippo in nXt has a following but can you see him as a heel?

Ever since then, they've been fucking with him. The ONLY reason they signed him after the tie incident was to keep him away from TNA. If you remember the Fatal 4Way ppv that year, the PPV ended with the crowd chanting Daniel Bryan and he wasn't even employed by the company. Even the origins of why he has a beard was entertaining. It was that exact reason when he got over. WM 28.

Bryan made himself popular by just being himself. The company shits on you if you try to get yourself over without their permission. See:

Big E

You could say this isn't true because of Punk. Punk had a lot of backstage influence thanks to Heyman. He got the stroke to keep his name. He also got some power when his contract was up because of the pipebomb. Vince would be scared shitless if the most talked about wrestler in years worked for another company.

Wait wait....how is WWE shitting on Big E? By giving him the IC Championship and being the only champion to not job weekly?

He lost last week

He was in the Rumble for like a minute or 2.

I think Triple H found all his instagram stuff with Kaitlyn.

Big E was in the main event with Cena and Punk last month. He hasn't done much since.

As part of a 6 man tag against a team who has lost like 3 matches in the last year. The only guy he's lost to in a singles match since winning the IC Championship is Randy Orton.

Ain't about the pop. The "Yes Movement" made that pretty clear.

I dunno what Big E did but he went from working with Cena in the main event twice to be eliminated quick out the Rumble and not even on tv tonight.

This is as dumb an argument as D-Bry losing last night and not being in the Rumble is for him being "buried".
