Thank You Playstation Generation fans. You've turned MS into a console monster, with insane pricing deals and the best spec for the next-gen. LOVE IT !!!!

What? Series s is 50 pounds cheaper so shouldn't the series x be more than 50 pounds Cheaper considering it costs more in dollars.

Possibly but they are both priced very fairly and in a similar $/£ ratio has all previous Xbox consoles this gen. Sony have been similar. *stares at Nintendo*

£449 minus 20% VAT = £359 = $466
£249 minus 20% VAT = £199 = $258

Mean while at euro area / nordics

399$ = 399-449€ = 470-530$

Always usd = euro + then some

So 499$ will be 550-650$ here converted back to usd

£450 is what I expected from the PS5, not the Series X. That's a good price MS have going. I wonder if Sony will at least match or undercut.

I don't think pricing is too bad is it? Account for the 25% VAT in many European countries and the pricing (€299 or 3299 NOK for XSS) is good.

i see game are using klarna for monthly payments , klarna are very hit and miss if you will get accepted . i sense disappointment for some people. they want money in those tills.

I just checked the pound-to-USD historical chart and it's been relatively flat for 5 years. I thought maybe it strengthened against the USD as most products often price on the basis of $1 = £1. Or is that just pure laziness from most companies? If that's the case then bravo to MS and UK gamers.

I hope I can get accepted. Otherwise it will be PS5 only for me.

I've been adamant I won't be an early adopter this time around, but I was expecting these consoles to cost north of 500. I can already feel my resolve starting to crack.

Question, will my Xbox One X controllers work with the Series X?

i think ps5 for me first thats if they announce this thing outside of their select chosen few. you win the lottery and theres enough stock for retailers in the uk. then the series s but at the minuet there's no exclusive xbox game i need t, hat may change between now and the end of the month hopefully .

Currently theres more games on sony out the gate that im interested in. plus last of us 2 as i got tired of waiting for the drop. i don't game a ton so no need for two top spec machines this gen. if it wasn't for spider-man id just be upgrading my pc i was contemplating the hassle but . exclusive games always get you.

erp price ? does that mean retailers can make it more expensive ff they choose

ERP is estimated retail pricing as until the product hits the market it can change based on anything from cheaper manufacturing costs (not likely) to the economy collapsing when Covid 2.0 or whatever new world crisis shows up before November. Once the consoles are available in stores they will have the MSRP listing which will likely be the same as the ERP.

Sellers can always sell products at higher than MSRP. Once they buy the product to sell from the manufacturer, unless they have a legal agreement saying otherwise, they can set their own pricing for resale.

MSRP is the manufacturer suggested retail price which is what the manufacturer has determined is a fair markup price over what they sold the product for at wholesale. Stores don't have to sell the Xbox at $499, but most stores follow MSRP because customers generally expect MSRP pricing to be followed. You often see convenience stores and specialty stores like hobbyist stores selling products at well above MSRP. You also see car dealers selling rare or special edition vehicle for thousands over MSRP.
