Both can be played on Vita too (just saying). I would get these in a heart beat, but next gen prices has me saving every penny.
They removed it because the Twin Towers were supposed to appear:They didn't remove the Twin Towers. There was a cut scene at the end of the game where Aresenal Gear crashes and takes out the Statue of Liberty and smashes through Manhattan. They removed that.

They just re-released the old pc versions of MGS1 and 2 so Sony didn't lose anything.Sony just keeps losing more exclusives, even old ones. Now Xbox has nearly the entire collection except 4.
Add in anti-consumer policies and higher game prices, more expensive consoles,it seems PS3 Sony has indeed returned.
Hard to find a better pure stealth game
Very cool, I've never actually seen this picture or the Twin Towers that were cut. They removed it because the Twin Towers were supposed to appear:

Now is the time for change, demand Sony drop price of Digital PS5 to $299 to match Xbox, remove anti-consumer polices, keep games prices low.
Gamers are Vita, and Vita means life. Because you forgot that you let Sony Kill the Vita instead of working toward the benefit of consumers. Don't let PS3 Sony come back!
Garbage port.
MGS 1+2 are amazing games for many reasons, but if we're talking pure stealth experiences then you can't leave out the original Splinter Cell trilogy.Hard to find a better pure stealth game
That pic is from The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 that was released in 2002. The disc came with Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance in Europe. You can actually view the full 3D model of that and you can fly around.Very cool, I've never actually seen this picture or the Twin Towers that were cut.
Makes me recall that GTA3 released around the same time and had 9/11 censorship. They clipped the wings on the planes so people couldn't crash em into buildings. Also I think... they removed the twin towers, or two tall skyscrapers meant to resemble them. That pic is from The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 that was released in 2002. I never got The Document disc when it was available. I bet it's bad ass. I've seen quite a bit of the footage off of YT and what not though. That pic is from The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 that was released in 2002. There's an old article out there from years back written by the guy who was in-charge on the PC port, but basically they couldn't do a lot of what the PS1 was doing and used a lot of cheap hacks to match the date given to them. They also couldn't get the music engine working so instead they rushed it by downloading a torrent MP3 rip of the PS1 soundtrack and converted that to WAVEs to put in place, it means the soundtrack on PC is missing a lot of cues and there's no boss variant of the Alert theme, etc.Explain please. What's the problem?
Perhaps. Yeah. It was wild times with the 9/11 censorship back then. I tried For HOURS with my friend to fly that dodo. Couldn't ever make it across the River.I've played through Chaos Theory recently and that still holds the crown in console stealth games IMO. But i'd bet that the first 2 haven't aged nearly as well as CT did. I almost want to play them again, but I also don't want to ruin the fond memories I have of them either.

Didn't they also change the cop cars to less resemble NYPD cars too? And I remember you COULD fly the Dodo around in GTA3, you just had to know the trick to doing it.

mgs V and revengeance are on sale
None of the fun stuff happens. How does the Psycho Mantis fight play out in the PC version? I bought it, plan on playing it here in the next week or so, but I was just thinking how unique that fight was and how some of the things that made it so great are only really possible on the console.

My first MGS experience was the PC port. Wonder how they gonna handle the 2 controller thing. As I recall, you had to play with a gamepad and keyboard.
You what? 22 years and I'm just hearing this now? Are you sure you didn't dream this? You can also destroy the gas mask on the statues/busk in the office to defeat Mantis... You could on the PS version anyway so I don't see this being any different.

Nope. Kojima thought of people who have emulated before PS1 emulation was possible or had a faulty controller port.
Now do Silent Hill 1-4, Konami. I know you can do it.
Remake dreams dead
I've never played the original MGS. I've had s copy of Twin Snakes on Gamecube for years but didn't get around to it. To anyone who's played both: Should I play that or get this PC port of the original?
