The alliance between Team PlayStation and FIGC is the natural consequence of the important network of collaborations that SIE has woven with some of the main Italian clubs in the esports field and with the local football federation itself, as in the recent case of the Italian Super Cup called PS5 Supercup.

The General Manager of SIE Italia, Marco Saletta, celebrates the partnership by explaining how "we are proud of the collaboration with FIGC and happy to join the Italian National Football Team, the sports team par excellence, which embodies the values of inclusiveness to fairplay. We believe that this is a unique opportunity to celebrate two related communities, fans and video gamers, and we are sure that collaborations of this caliber can contribute concretely to feeding the knowledge and development of the video game in Italy".

Our national team is as good as ps5 is easy to find rn, so this is a very good team up lol

( hope this give us some luck 🇮🇹🏆)

"Soccer" - sometimes I forget this is a US forum 😉.
Sigh, Britain invented the term, blame them. Plus, there are 7 football codes played around the world, calling soccer soccer cuts out any confusion.
True. America call football only to a game where players use their hands most of the time. I mean…okay.

Only America, huh?

Only people who are ignorant of the history of soccer think it is called football because you kick the ball with your foot.

It all dumb really. (Foot)ball shouldn't be a handball game. Naming a sport after your country is even more ridiculous.

Uh oh, Captain Serious has arrived on the scene...

I'm not interested in the etymology of the word, it's Americans who use the term today more than any other major country. If you're from England or the UK, and you use the term 'soccer' today, people (rightly) think you're a moron.

And well done for looking up Wikipedia for the 'seven football codes'. Football is by far the biggest sport in the world, played in the vast majority of countries. The others you have listed are niche in comparison.

I already knew all of the football codes before this post. As an American Football fan I investigated the origins of the sport and discovered them. It is also why I think anybody who thinks soccer is called football because they kick the ball with their foot comes off as an ignoramus. This information is readily available and yet they choose to wallow in ignorance while at the same time usually having an aura of arrogance about their opinion.

^This is the kind of arrogant opinion I am talking about. FYI there are people in Ireland who use "football" to refer to Gaelic. There are also plenty of other countries around the world where "football" refers to something other than soccer.
1. It all dumb really. (Foot)ball shouldn't be a handball game. 2. Naming a sport after your country is even more ridiculous.
1. Football originally referred to any ball sport played on foot. It originates from when the only sports being played were on horseback. And n those early football games you were usually allowed to use your hands. Perfectly reasonable.
2. Why? Rugby Football is named after a school, Gaelic Football is named after a culture, Australian Rules Football = Country, American Football = Country. The majority of football codes (4/7) are named after the place they come from.
What happened to RUGBY ?
What do you mean? It is in the first image. I am not sure if it is Union or League, though.

I have never heard anyone say football when they refer to rugby outside of usofa. In the rest of the world there's american rugby also often called handegg albeit mockingly. Only americans call american rugby - football; and football - soccer.

The first thing that pops into the heads for over 7 billion people all over the world when they hear the word football is the sport that only americans call soccer and very few outside of usofa even knows what amercan rugby is that thing that only in america people refer to as football.

People in New Zealand, South Africa, parts of Australia (other parts are referring to Aussie Rules), and Fiji usually mean Rugby when they say football, as the sport is the dominant football code there.

Other countries outside of the USA, including those above, refer to association football as soccer including Canada, parts of Ireland and the country this game came from:

Inderesting I stand corrected, if what you wrote is right. I'll update my post then.

What the fuck is "soccer"?
Can you speak English?

Never said that i'm Einstein 😂 but if i've wrote football someone can think of this

The F in NFL is for football

Yeh and if you write "soccer" I'll assume you're American.

Don't be afraid to show your roots. If you're Italian you can use football and everyone will understand why you've used that language.

There's no hope for you. Stick to NFL, cos real football clearly ain't for you 😁.

I've met a much higher proportion of Australian and Japanese people who use the correct term than Americans.

Canadians are north Americans, so no surprises there.

Also, note how all the above countries have crap domestic league and crap international teams 🤔.
