Blame youtube. They pretty much have to. Vincent is a legit calibrator and knows TV tech as well as anyone.

Curious to know about the Input Lag since Sony's TV usually are not good compared to LG's.

Just interested in the blur reduction stuff. Will be looking forward to seeing the results from that.

Now seriously...this isn't on them. This is on youtube, not content creators. Plenty of them hate the fact they have to do this for engagement. Also, a lot of these guys make more money than people with "a real job" fyi.

Wasn't their A95K from last year a 4K 120Hz QD-OLED with Dolby Vision?
It wasnt dolby vision and 120 hz at the same time.

That feature for was exclusive on lg tvs.

I have a last years sony oled (a80k) and you have to choose either 120 hz or dolby vision.

Well, finally full package almost without any compromises. Almost becuase you may need to buy HDMI 2.1 splitters which if I'm not mistaken are not that expensive and hard to buy now.

Sony was the only brand using Mediatek chips that didn't suffer from poor 10-bit gradation thanks to the custom co-processor so the difference in processing quality might not be huge but still curious to see what they managed to improve with Pentonic 1000 on board.

Sony is just using the Samsung QD-OLED panels, and Samsung's TV's have superior input lag compared to Sony's.

Sony releases TV: I sleep
Samsung releases TV with <10 ms input lag: REAL SHIT

Blame Sony for using mediatek in the first place then.

There is no alternative. LG and Samsung design their own chipsets but they also sell so much more TVs compared to other brands. All other brands like Philips, TCL, Hisense, Panasonic etc. rely on Mediatek. What Sony does better than all of these brands is they add their own custom co-processor on top of the off-the-shelf Mediatek chipset. Thanks to that custom co-processor their 2021 and 2022 models were the only TVs using Mediatek that didn't suffer from poor 10-bit gradation and didn't need turning off optional processing features to achieve full 4k@120. Also they are the only brand except LG offering dedicated color debanding filter (it's called Smooth Gradation).

does it come in 83" or bigger?

A80L with LG's panel - 55/65/77/83 inches
A95L with Samsung's QD-OLED panel - 55/65/77 inches (77" is the biggest size Samsung offers currently, last year it was only 55/65 inches)

Both A80L and A95L use the same processor. Whoops, sorry, it seems only the A95L gets the newest chipset with DV@120 support.
