agreed,good for nintendo being 2025 champs🤩 but 90m ps5s are buying 3rd party titles for the PS or PC.who seriously choses to play these 3rd party titles on switch 2 over the PS or Pc unless the SW2 is your only console?

A load of 3rd party port/remasters/remakes ect released so far on the Switch 2 have been played years ago by many.

Spain represents the numbers for Europe. If a 5-year-old PS5 beats the Switch 2 2:1, you can be sure that this applies to all of Europe.

But hey, supposedly these numbers aren't important because in your world only the USA and Japan matters.

Well Nintendo kept their 19M estimate which would suggest they expect to ship an additional 1.63M for Q4. But that may just be to make sure that they match or over-perform rather than risk underperforming.

Sony expected to sell 15M, which they've basically already reached in Q3, but I haven't seen if they adjusted their estimate or not after the Q3 report.

Generally a guesstimate of between 1,5-3M sounds good to me.

Actually, Nintendo Switch is the best-selling gaming hardware in China.
China-South Korea-Taiwan = Nintendo strong territory.

Nintendo Switch sold more in South Korea (~3 million units) than in Spain.

This data covers all of 2025, so we already know the result for the calendar year.

Fiscal year could look different. Although if you're looking at the FY only Sony is at 14.4M as of Q3 and Nintendo is at 17.37M as of Q3, so it will only be a wider gap compared to the calendar year.

There is very little in the way of context or indeed nuance with these things, or it's there when it suits etc etc. The Switch 2 is one of the first consoles in recent history that has launched with very good levels of stock, certainly outside of Japan. Now this will be amazing for sales initially, but you do lose the fear of loss factor for some, and they will wait it out a while as they know they can get a console pretty much whenever they want. This can be worse when there is a tougher economic climate as well.

The Switch 2 launched well and has in effect sold 2.5 million units every month, I see no evidence of a massive slowdown, no matter what some are suggesting on here.

Nintendo runs profit margins of 18%-20%. Sony runs profit margins of 8%-12%. Nintendo has a larger buffer to deal with volatility in the component market.
 
It's definitely not a coincidence that there seems to be so much more Nintendo fans on gaf since xbox died. The console warrior types too, which is exactly how the xbox fanboys used to act around here. It's blatantly obvious. Before, Nintendo fans were the most quiet and used to stay out of the console war shit. The xbox guys still find a way to console war even after xbox died! Just disguise as a Nintendo fan.

Many of them predicted switch 1 to fail and switch 2 is the successor of nintendo most successful console vs switch 1 coming off a weak 3ds and massive failure of the wiiu, so after building a 150 million user base and 8 years to launch a new console what else would one expect when even the ps5 was sold out for 2 years.

What has not changed is the shit posting that goes on in pretty much every Nintendo thread, not sure the decline of the Xbox has anything to do with this. There are some who do actively contribute, but it's in the minority. And I rarely see this in the Sony sales threads, or as much.
