The Last Guardian releases October 25, 2016 (trailer)

I was slightly underwhelmed watching this on the stream last night, but watching the trailer by itself again in higher quality (and without the distraction of wondering what the next trailer will be) gave me some serious chills. The hype has returned. :)

We can see a transparent legs of whatever is possessing the armor

I hope there will be a lore about them in the game and not one of those "we will leave it to the player's imagination"

I wish they hadn't spoiled the 2nd Trico. Seems like such a huge reveal. Why spoil that now when we have been waiting so long for it.

When Trico stands on his hind legs at the end and does the weird arm wiggle to keep his balance....my cats do that too and seeing it here is just killing me. He feels so real....

Just recently on the Polygon stream the team reported that in their interview with Ueda, he states that he is "hoping" that Team Ico can finish Last Guardian in time for the release date currently announced, and "if they had it their way" Last Guardian wouldn't even be demoed today.

Either way, my heart is going to be broken on October 25th.

LOL, if Ueda had his way The Last Guardian would be delayed to 2345 at the earliest.

It's really not surprising for them to want to actually make the game instead of using any time for demo.

I thought the live orchestra really set the mood. I was in tears by how beautiful it is. I'm so glad the wait is almost over. The game I bought my PS3 for......is finally going to be in my hands......on the PS4 lol

Looks so good. Like a fusion of ICO and SOTC for real. I can't freaking wait for this. Trico looks amazing.

Someone hacked Y2Kevs account!!!!!!

In all seriousness......ICO and SotC weren't long games at all. Single sitting games and were probably two of my GotGs in the PS2 era. A game doesn't have to be long to be amazing. I have faith that it will be the most gripping team ICO game to date. Tears will be shed, smiles and laughter will be embraced. The end......will only bring the want....for more

not sure if it was posted? gamespot impression with some offscreen footage

Quite a lot of narration in that video. I wonder if this will be a more dialogue-driven game than ICO and SotC.

according to amazon IT description, the game is 20 hours long

20 hours is nuts. Assuming it actually is that long, there could be pacing issues with a running time that lengthy, but we'll see.

I've watched the trailer a hundred times and have my collector's edition pre-ordered, I'm so damn ready for this!

Eurogamer has played the first 40minutes, looks like it has more than a few problems. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-06-15-the-last-guardian-the-first-40-minutes

And yet, despite The Last Guardian looking like Sony has papered over the cracks of a last-gen game, it struggles. The controls are fiddly and unresponsive, and the camera is a constant thorn in your side. After you find a mysterious shield, you can use it to project a beam of light that triggers and directs a lightning bolt that shoots from Trico's tail. This is used for puzzle solving in the game's opening, but it feels cumbersome in such an enclosed environment with a camera that refuses to play ball.

40 minutes of play time isn't enough to judge The Last Guardian, of course. Yes, I'm worried about the controls and camera and framerate, but the more I think about my time with the game, the more confident I am of its soul. Still, The Last Guardian faces the perhaps insurmountable task of meeting expectations set by Sony almost a decade ago. Perhaps that's okay. Perhaps it isn't.

To me the soul is the most important part of an Ueda game.

Also, Shadow of the Colossus was, by many accounts, a complete technical disaster shortly before E3 2005 (I remember the GAF thread). Some say it was one upon release, too, but it improved a lot in the final months. It's not going to be the smoothest or most responsive game when it comes out, I know this, but that's like the last thing I expect or need from one of these games.

Why almost no footage of this? I've only seen Gamespot's. Why so little news? Where is the excitment?

Good. Keep it this way. I've seen more than enough of the game, perhaps more than I should have... Team ICO games for me have always been about the joy of exploration and discovery, the mystery of the unknown. I don't want to be spoon-fed locations and what's possible in the game months before I get to play it, especially after waiting so long.
