Even then, unless Turkey wants to get flattened by Russia they won't touch the US nukes. Plus, despite their many problems, Turkey is a fairly modern state and wants to participate in the West's various parties. It would be suicidal to try and seize US assets.

Besides, Turkey has the money and industrial capacity to create their own devices without going to war with pretty much the rest of the world. Nobody is going to steal an American nuke, much less Turkey.

The issue for America here is the dollar and trade which will pull them to intervene, they shouldn't get involved if they collapse because the propaganda of USA bombs over Mecca and Medina would make extremists moist and will pull 1.5 billion people into the conflict. They should cut their loses and let it play out. Providing humanitarian aid and refuge should be their priority.

I'm on mobile. Does the article touch on the added pressures of climate change in the gcc region?

Adding a youth bulge to depressed oil prices whilst the environment becomes excessively inhospitable and your state sponsored religion metastasized into a bloody death cult doesn't engender stability inside or outside ones borders.

Any failure to plan for Saudi and the entire gcc going to total shit would speak to massive incompetence in the west. Which I'm increasingly inclined to believe unfortunately.
