Anyone playing Dredge?

Strangely addictive. Quite a chilled game in a lot of ways but there's plenty to develope and various side stories to explore.

It's a bit of a fancy cellphone game in some ways, but I think it's good fun so far.

I started playing it recently, nice zone out type of game. Though I didn't realise I could equip as much equipment that would fit the defined areas, so for about 3.5 hours I was just using 1 engine and 1 rod (at that point I could've had 3 small engines and 2 rods equipped). The speed increase alone made me so happy, while still feeling stupid.

I've not beaten it yet or anything, but after nearly 10 hours I would recommend it.

It's great.

It's atmospheric and relaxing. I like the fishing, I like the upgrading.

The management side of me wanted more reasons to keep fishing, it becomes less and less important as you progress.

I would love a straight-up relaxing fishing game out of this.

One thing though, those effects at night, the insanity effects, did you guys see much come of it? I finished the game without understanding what the point of it was, other than creating tension.

While it was cool when the leviathan appeared, there really wasn't anything to do. I didn't expect the end to come as fast as it did, there was no end mission, you just sailed to a spot and it ended. I wanted a little more.

Did anyone play it on the switch? Kinda want a game I can play in bed but I just wanna know if the performance is any good.

I picked this up last night based on the impressions from this thread! Totally never heard of this game but I totally dig it. Only an hour or two in. Night time is creepy.

So I finally sat down to play this. Love it. Strangely enough it is a very similar to last year's Moonglow Bay but I guess it is just an coincidence and they both have been heavily inspired by some older game that I am unaware of. Dredge is a bit better though - perhaps a bit more basic but more focused on travelling/fishing and these sinister Lovecraftian vibes give it a more defined identity.

I finished it last week. I really liked the game and the gameplay loop felt really refreshing and relaxing.

My biggest grip is that they really don't do much with the cosmic horror stuff. The ending was nice but storytelling was really minimalist and all the lovecraft stuff feels really minor.

I played it on Switch oled btw and it felt pretty polished.

We sit down with Black Salt Games to talk about the design of their cosmic horror fishing game DREDGE.

Necro post!

Started this on the weekend and it's damn fun! The ideas are simple and implementation is great. I'm having a great time with it. Highly recommend
