I seen a lot of backpack from what seems like it is made by foreign companies that are knock offs of Hershel backpacks. They are significantly cheaper and some do have good reviews. I even use fakespot and it seems good enough. I mean unless you are buying tech items or food/drugs that you got to worry about unknown brands.

However, what about simple stuff like backpacks?

Read the reviews mate, some of the copyies are made really well others are made as cheap as possible.

If you're putting a laptop in it I'd say go with the brand name one. Otherwise read the reviews

I bought a cheap holdall bag from Primark (UK discount clothing store). Was crossing the road one day and mid cross the strap broke and the bag fell on the floor. It was that day where I realized I'm never buying cheap shit again. I rather have nothing than something without any quality control that will unexpectedibly become a safety hazard one day.
