Dreamcast VGA mod help

Sorry, I would have searched for a thread, but VGA is too short and I have no idea what else to include in the string.

GAF, I want to give my Dreamcast some love, and the easiest way to do that is hook it up to my second PC monitor, since I already spend all my day in my chair (I have the 360 here too, don't have to move an inch!).

Unfortunately, I've seen about 3 or 4 different schematics on the net to devise the modification, and it's hard to tell which one is the best. Does anyone have any experience with adding an internal VGA port?

1) I'm not keen on spending $27 for something that amounts to pennies in discrete parts and labour.

2) I love hands on work, and I could use the precision soldering practice.

Same here however with a lot of things I just end up buying since I can't read schematics for shit but can solder very well.

Electronics is my focus of study, so schematics make my pants creamy. ^_^

This site seems to know whats up, though I still think you'd be getting better quality if you used a vga box rather than hand soldering everything. Plus those solder points are tiny.

I also wonder what if the quality of picture would suffer with hand-soldered solutions. At worst I can default to the box, since the mod doesn't disturb the video out port.

Apologies to kick this back to page 1, but no one has any advice? I'm heading to the movies now, but if all else fails I have 2 Dreamcasts, so if one doesn't work I've got a fresh system to work from.
