Exclusive interview with Ralph H. Baer

Hi,

I'm doing this for a friend, but also because it's pretty relevant to GAF's interests (I think)

Unless you lived under a rock for the last couple years, you probably already know that the father of videogaming, Ralph H. Baer, passed away in 2014. A couple years ago, in 2012, two of my friends had the privilege to meet him. It took 3 years, but the video is finally available online.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSkCtaLGGPo (for some reason the video appears to start after the short intro)

Please tell me if you enjoyed it and I'll forward your feedback to the team ^^

GAF doesn't know who Ralph Baer is. :/

Thanks for posting, tagged to watch when I have some time later tonight.

I love this stuff, watching now, ashamed to admit didn't know of him (though the name sounded familiar) till now. That retrospective on the beginnings of Sierra and King's Quest was great too. Curious if anybody can recommend some good docs or mini docs on the early days of gaming and the people involved. Can be in the snes/genesis era too.

The Deathbed Vigil

I have a friend who worked on several Atari games during this era. He always calls them "commie-dore" which cracks me up.
