  • 🔫 Jonathan points out that the revolver in BioShock is based on the Webley series, but with a modified Recoil Shield and a pinch to break Webley price system. He explains that the revolver in the game is plain, but the example he shows is beautifully decorated with a blue-black mirror finish and gold decoration, giving off a steampunk vibe.
[*]🔫 Jonathan notes the challenges of upgrading revolvers in video games as it's impossible to increase the size of a six-shot cylinder realistically. He suggests that a belt-fed revolver could work, but the BioShock games use a bolt-on capacity system that he finds nonsensical.
[*]🔫 The video also features a hyper-stylized Thompson submachine gun in BioShock, modeled after the M1928 with a drum from an M1921 for effect. Jonathan points out that the details on the gun are incorrect, such as the compensator and the rear sight, which is not ideal for a submachine gun. The cocking handles and cartridge cases also eject from the left of the gun, regardless of the position of the handle.
[*]💥 Dragon's breath with incendiary effect existed before the game
[*]🎖️ Upgrades in the shotgun make more sense than in the revolver
[*]🔫 Plausible to make a version of the shotgun with revolving cylinders
[*]🧭 No obvious way of aiming the Gatling gun
[*]⚙️ Harpoon/spear gun has a motor for storing energy and unclear spinning gear or wheel
[*]🏹 Trap ammo magically projects a cable after hitting target
[*]💣 Grenade launcher has significant recoil due to mass of projectile
[*]🎮 Only analyzed guns from BioShock 1 and 2, but would like to look at Infinite in the future
