So yeah, Funimation has finally announced the Dub Cast for the Danganronpa Anime, and this is what it looks like.

  • Greg Ayres as Monokuma
  • Bryce Papenbrook as Makoto Naegi
  • Felecia Angelle as Aoi Asahina
  • Lindsay Seidel as Celestia Ludenwerg
  • Jamie Marchi as Junko Enoshima
  • Kara Edwards as Chihiro Fujisaki
  • Carli Mosier as Toko Fukawa
  • Christopher Bevins as Yasuhiro Hagakure
  • Austin Tindle as Kyotaka Ishimaru
  • Caitlin Glass as Kyoko Kirigiri
  • Justin Cook as Leon Kuwata
  • Monica Rial as Sayaka Maizono
  • Rachel Robinson as Sakura Ohgami
  • Christopher R. Sabat as Mondo Owada
  • Josh Grelle as Byakuya Togami
  • Tyson Rinehart as Hifumi Yamada

Lotd of people are terribly disappointed in that List, and here's why:

Only Papenbrook is reprising his role from the English dub of the game

Yep, the only Voice that people who played the Game will recognize is the one of the Main Character.
So what happend to the other Voice Actors of the Game?

As the Voice Actors of Hagakure and Toko pointed out on their Tumblr, they were never contacted for the Roles.

So yeah, even if the Dub becomes decent in the End, Funimation already dropped the Ball here.

I don't follow this series but if the dub is well received, would they replace the current english VA cast with the dub cast for future games?

It's not impossible, but i don't think that NIS America is going to do this, for the few returning Characters.

On the... um... marginal plus side, the anime isn't a great adaptation due to how quickly they have to rush through the material.

So, there's that. Not as big a loss as if it was a masterpiece.

Shame the majority of potential viewers will probably never pick up a vita.

Probably two totally different dubbing companies.

Sucks, but that's business. The anime isn't really good, so it's levitates the "despair" some (completely, in my case).

yeah, funimation's out in texas and nis america's out in california

Yeah ok, i can get behind that, makes sense.

However that makes the Fact that they got Makotos Original VA even more weird to me.
