GreedFall II: The Dying World launches March 12

Loved my time with the first game, but this one has me scratching my head wondering how it could go so wrong. Bought the EA version on Steam a couple of months ago, played the battle tutorial and refunded that steaming turd quick. Such a shame.

Im not one to harp on about Steam CCUs but the numbers are catastrophic

Greedfall peak - 16,345
Greedfall The Dying World peak - 766 (!!!)

yikes....
Dude, I was making fun of Ex Voto for 427 CCU, but goddamn that's fucking terrible for a sequel no matter how you slice it.
On Steam, it's at 318 going by SteamDB's Top Selling list. For context on how bad that is, Ex Voto is number 100.
On PSN, Greedfall 2 is around 90ish or so on the best selling list, while Ex Voto is around 120.

I have only played about an hour. I give it a 7 so far. Audio and visuals are decent. Feels like the first one but with Baldur's Gate gameplay instead. Its unique, so it deserves props for that alone; also for not pushing woke agendas.

I think a large part of it is the lack of coverage on Steam. It oddly doesn't show up on front page as new release. I had to search for it. I wishlisted.

Not that Greedfall 1 was anything super special or anything but it seemed like a really solid start that would have led into what I expected to be Spiders breakout hit. This sequel is worse in literally every way even though its almost 7 years newer. HOW

How is it worse in every way? Have you played it and can you elaborate?

If the first game is the only game worth playing, maybe I just check that out and skip the sequel.

You can get the first game and if you like it, you can try the sequel and hope that by the time you've finished the first its gotten patched up a bit

Oddly enough both the first game and Dying World are basically the same price if you know where to look. On GMG right now:

Greedfall - $30.79
Greedfall The Dying World - $31.99

Talking about my experiences with Greedfall 2 The Dying World, an unfortunately troubled title due to the recent financial situation of publisher Nacon.

Honestly this game has been poorly advertised every possible way. I wouldn't even have known a damn thing about it. No emails, nothing.

The first one was ok. I have the second to try, but haven't gotten around to it. The fact it's a prequel kinda has me less interested for some reason.

A bif of unfortunate news. It seems Spiders as well as several other Nacon studios have filed for insolvency. I don't know much of anything about French law, but apparently if they don't find funding or someone willing to buy them out and pay off their debt, the studios will likely close

Yeah I heard that through the Mortismal guy. Shame too since it could use some TLC to fix up some rough edges. Spiders is a pretty reliable B-A tier developer. Seems kind of rushed this one.

That's a shame. I really liked the first Greedfall, Eurojank and all.

This game had no marketing and essentially shadow dropped with no mention on the Steam main page. No surprise that sales are low.
