So, for you then the settings and characters of San Andreas, Vice City and GTA3 are the same? Well, for me there are fundamental differences.
In the overall sense, every GTA character is fundamentally the same with the difference being a ethnic/racial take on crime.

I'm not sure what Claude is in terms of ethnicity but Tommy and CJ take on criminality is stereotyped by their race/ethnicity plus the timeframe of each game.

That's surface level nonsense, those differences stem from how each group are organized and how race/ethnicity affects each character take on crime.

Claude is an outlier in the contemporary GTA games as he very few connections outside of his girlfriend.

Tommy and CJ are more similar to each other than Claude. Heck,I would say Tommy and CJ are closer to each other than the later characters in the series.
That's literally my whole point dude, the surface level stuff is offputting and i find them cringe, it's not rocket science.

There are infinite type of organised criminality:

Sicilian mob
Italo-americans mob
Chinese mob
Japan mon
Irish mob
Russian mobs
Etc. Etc.

They are all criminal, but do i have find them all equally cool? No i fucking dont, we all have preferences.

It is the same fucking thing as liking egypt over greece for the location of an assassin creed, you are still an assassin and deal with templars but people have preference about the historic period or mythology or character accent or how they dress etc.

Mckmaster uses MasterCard to buy Slave drives
The whole gangsta ghetto stuff didn't hooked me and i bailed out by half game tbh.

Gta3 or vice city are still the best old gta for me (especially 3).

Probably my least favourite rockstar game, and that include bully and manhunt.

I don't know why or how to explain but the bolded just feels bad to read man.......

The writing doesn't change a bit so imo he still is a set character.

You can make arthur fat, she is still gonna have the same dialogue during missions and story bits, same for cj.
there s a specific mission where you re being asked to lose weight

npcs also have a lot of reactions

(this is a satire post xd these are rare exceptions to the rule. ye it didnt matter for the story overall. but it was still nice to have)

regardless, for me gta sa is the best GTA game as well. but beyond that, it is in my top 5 easily

It was always my wish that Rockstar Leeds could have finished the "GTA Stories" series.

The two PSP games were some of my favorite GTAs (they also eventually got ported to PS2, but then R* forgot about them in the various remaster/classic dl releases, though LCS seems to have a mobile port.) A third game in that huge state-sized map would have been a lot of fun to mess around in again (especially if it had been on a portable again, although PSP was pretty much maxed out with VCS,) plus it'd bring back mechanics dropped as the series moved on. Maybe more importantly, it would have allowed the storyline to be reframed around parts of the map underseen in the original GTA:SA. A good percentage of players probably never got far enough in missions to leave the first city of the game, so maybe SAS could have flipped where the game focused. If the third GTA Stories game could have started in maybe Las Venturas and worked backwards through San Fiero and eventually Los Santos, it would have had a totally different vibe; instead this would have been probably a Vegas crime/riches story, where you work casinos and rob transports until you have enough capital to take over Hollywood. (More like some kind of play on the Oceans movies, whereas GTA:SA was a Boyz n the Hood riff.)

It never happened back in the day, but I actually think this could be an amazing product today...

Imagine; a new PS2-style Grand Theft Auto. A "small-scale" GTA throwback made using the GTA Definitive Edition version of the old engine, with GTA:San Andreas assets/map modified for the timeline of the game and mission scenarios. (There are mods out there trying to do this, but that scale of production is difficult without studio backing even if a modder knows what they're doing.) Upgrade the tech and materials in some ways where possible, with texture improvements and more modern animation rigging, but keep it at that roughly PS2 level of detail and complexity (for budget reasons, but also the GTA5 mechanics are different and it'd take work to port SA systems to the current engine plus it'd cost a ton to remake Las Venturas or San Fiero areas at GTA5 levels of quality/scale.) Make wider use of the gameplay systems of GTA:SA (and maybe also the territory system of GTA Vice City Stories) to do new or underexplored types of mission design to the old GTA model. Find an independent studio that can work in this capacity, write stories around new and popular characters from this area, budget smartly, put some songs on a playlist, price it right and maybe release it as a companion/follow-up to a GTA:LCS/VCS/CTW package,) and get a new GTA out for the first time in over a decade...

I might be in the minority here but I actually preferred Vice city, GTASA is objectively the better game there’s so much more to do the maps bigger the story has more missions but I dunno something about the Miami vibe with the 80’s music just stole my heart as a kid and to this day it wins out for me.

How should i call em? Gangsta rappers? Street gang?

We don't have this stuff in italy so i'm just using the us terminology but i'm no expert, i avoid almost everything related to rapper gangsta stuff.

I think some npcs react to arthur being fat etc, but that doesn't change my point, the character and plot and writing is fixed for 99,99% of the time.

That's what it's generally called so not sure why it would feel bad. You hear hood, ghetto, gangsta, and all type of west coast LA black/Hispanic slang in the game.

GymWolf GymWolf simply doesn't like the vibe, which is fine. Some people I know didn't like the setting of Sleeping Dogs, and others don't care for the vibe of the Mafia games. It's really just a setting thing. Nothing else.

My experience with everybody GTA game I’ve tried

1. Hey this is pretty cool.
2. Complete a few missions.
3. Stuck on a mission and have to redo it a few times.
4. This is boring I’m just going to forget the missions.
5. Drive around trying to run over pedestrians.
6. Get out and try to shoot pedestrians and the cops that show up.
7. Check out the strip club in the game.
8. Start a shoot out in the strip club.
9. I’m done with this game.

Whole thing takes 2-3 hrs.

best GTA hands down gangster

best missions story characters girlfriends and you can swim go to gym get muscles hair do stealth shooting rolls
Some of the missions in San Andreas are some of the worst in the series. The RC plane missions for Zero's tech shop, flight school, and other menial tasks bring down the package and unfortunately fill the biggest third of the game. The moment the story leaves Los Santos until the moment it enters Las Venturas is a major slog. Another problem is the map. A lot of it is filled with nothing and if you destroy your vehicle which has the durability of paper mache getting out of there is a crapshoot without jetpack/car cheat. It does have some amazing side content though. Truck missions, pool, and public riot cheat are fantastic.

That's the one i haven't played so far. Maybe i should try it. What's so good about it that makes it better than Vice City?
Many of the missions are more interactive, you can swim, you can crouch walk/roll, and it has RPG elements. The RPG elements extend to cars, gang turf, and girlfriends too.

Vice City Stories is better than Vice City.
It is more 80's in tone and the melee/swimming are improved, but it is a step back in many other ways. The pedestrians and map are downgraded. The businesses in Stories have no personalities associated with them and make the landscape of Vice City more generic. The writing and voice acting is not as sharp. The plot often fails to progress in any meaningful way. Also, Tommy is just a more compelling character than Vic as he does not lament his criminal endeavours constantly and has a sense of humor. The supporting cast in Vice City is arguably more interesting as well. Even the characters that appear in both are more colorful in the original.

Yeah, to me Vice City will always have the best protagonist which is Tommy Vercetti.

Me and my brother played SA until our PS2 broke.

Gta4 and 5 are so boring I couldn't get myself to play more than a dozen hours.
