I'm not denying that publishers look to make money off double dippers but is there zero cost to releasing on PC? Does the scope of a game not increase the amount of QA? Does a wide variety of potential PC configurations not increase the amount of QA? Adding even a small percentage to a huge budget is something I'm sure any publisher considers. I don't believe it's as straightforward as you make it seem even if the console is just a PC with shitty firmware.Do you have ANY experience with game dev at all? I mean even loading up a map editor and making anything? I don't think you actually know what you're talking about to be honest. In 2025, there is no excuse for a game made to run on PS5 and XSX (as well ESPECIALLY XSS) but not launch simultaneously on PC. The dev kits they use are PC. The consoles they are making the game for are PCs. Xbox is a Windows and DirectX based system with an x86 CPU and AMD GPU. It's completely inexcusable. Ubisoft and EA are examples of studios releasing AAA games on consoles and PC at the same time. It's not a complicated or difficult manner and wouldn't delay release whatsoever.
You can't be serious. This was true a couple of gens back but nowadays this is just plainly wrong. We are almost 5 years after this gen's launch and just started to see real leaps (AC Shadows for example). For nextgen be prepared for an even longer crossgen period plus minimal improvements. I'm 99% sure that when it launches nothing will be more impressive than GTA VI, which is made by the absolute industry leading company with "infinite money". We could be glad if there would be another game in 2030 that could trade blows with it.Maybe ignorant if you've never been around for new console launches. The hype / initial look at launch window games typically starts roughly a year out.
That means right when GTA 6 is launching, MS and Sony are going to be showing off all their shiny new console titles coming the following year.
So yes, almost immediately.

Care to elaborate? My statement might have been a bit hyperbolic, considering we had R&C Rift Apart in 2021 but until this year we had only a handful games that felt "nextgen" at best.

xbox or ps6 undecided which one for nexgenPS6 and PlayStation Portable?
Problem is that if games takes longer to develop, then we should have longer generations of games.Remember when this company used to release more than 1 game every 10 years. Manhunt, max payne 3, bully, L.A noire, midnight club, the warriors etc.

What part is speculation and not based on what has been going on for the last 10-15 years?Lots of speculation there.
He(or rather to be specific russia) bled himself out pretty terribly at the cost of conquering ukraine, so likely at least 5 years maybe even 10 gotta pass before they got enough of men in the military age again to start something srs.Knowing our luck, GTA 6 will be preloading and Putin will start World War 3 with nuclear weapons.

People are fine when games takes too long develop. This industry is so fucked. The last GTA was a late PS3 tittle. The next would be a PS5 late tittle.

I agree with the latter, but I think AC Shadows was exactly like that. It was a leap in both physics and animation. Just take a walk near and in a forest during a storm. IMO nothing comes close to it at the moment. And I think it's quite far fetched to say that Crimson Desert will trash whatever the industry leading company cooks. But I truly wish you will be right, the more amazing games the better for everyone.Crimson Desert next year is the most next gen looking open world to date. From a gameplay perspective, it will trash whatever Rockstar is cooking for this one. In comparison, AC Shadows is a tier below, with worse physics and mediocre animations. Pretty graphics mean nothing if the world is lifeless and void of interactions.
The more realistic graphics a game has, the better physics and world building needs in order to feel immersive. .
we dont need a new trailer, we've seen enough already. it was common knowledge this shit would be delayed twice, they do it all the time.Promising you won't delay the game then delaying multiple times is annoying, they could at least soften the blow with a new trailer but no just radio silence between delay announcements.

Between the start of the 8th gen and the start of the 9th gen, there was 7 years gap.
However games takes that long to develop.
