Topspin 216k
Counter Strike 321k
Crimson Skies 315k
Ninja Gaiden 467k
Splinter Cell 2 400k

Splinter Cell 2 is a bit low but give it time, and Ninja Gaiden is doing better than I thought considering the level of difficulty. Topspin surpassed many peoples expectations and I'm surprised by Crimson Skies and Counter Strike.
I'm disappointed with those numbers.

Skies and Strike are still trying to recover from a disasterous holiday where I'm sure MS was hoping on much bigger sales.

NG and SC2 are now on track to be lapped by Colosseum.

And Colosseum was most likely developed at a fraction of either NG & or SC2's cost. Too bad, but established phenomenons (not fads) won't be toppled quite so easily.

If NG means Ninja Gaiden then it was already topped.

Partial list:

Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec: 3,495,069
SOCOM W/O Headset + SOCOM W/ Headset: 2,176,172
ATV Off Road Fury: 1,633,984
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy: 1,600,834
ATV Off Road Fury 2: 1,162,206
SOCOM II: 1,089,883
Twisted Metal: Black: 922,636
The Getaway: 910,998
Ratchet and Clank: 907,441
Jak II: 803,712
Dark Cloud: 647,770
Hot Shots Golf 3: 668,112
Sly Cooper: 567,631
Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando: 556,175
Eye Toy: 532,107
Jet Li: Rise to Honor: 272,614
Dark Cloud 2: 257,175
MLB 2005: 190,748
War of the Monsters: 188,561
Final Fantasy XI w/ HDD: 183,696
ICO: 168,225
The Mark of Kri: 156,946
Downhill Domination: 140,060

- Twisted Metal Black, The Getaway, and Ratchet and Clank are all heading toward the 1 million mark within the next few months thanks to consistent monthly sales.
- Jak II & Ratchet and Clank:GC are both outperforming the original compared to their predecessors' pre-GH run. At 800k, Jak II is easily doing far better than Jak 1 did at full price, and with steady monthly sales, both should reach and surpass their predecessors by the end of this generation. J&D 1 is heading towards the 2 million mark, which will likely be reached by year end thanks to the holiday season.
- ATV games...I don't understand their popularity :/
- GT3 heading to 4 million
- Eye Toy continues to have great monthly sales, 1 million mark here we come! (it will take more than a few months though)
- MLB 2005 is doing surprisingly well, 4 months into the release, it is almost at 200k and still have great monthly sales. It's no EA Sports numbers, but it's doing better than other 989 titles in recent years.
- FFXI w/ HDD should break 200k next month. It's having stable monthly numbers so who knows where this will end up.

what is NGA?

also, is SNES on there, or did they sell no units, I know my Target had several Anakiods (or something like that) and a couple others on "clearance" for like $12 as recently as several months ago...

NGA = NeoGAF

Or possibly N-Gage.

I don't see any SNES either. I know they still sell factory sealed games though, I saw new SMW, DKC, F-Zero, Prince of Persia, and Eye of the Beholder games a couple weeks back.

I'm pretty sure those are April numbers. The last time I added SE numbers were for April, and they look familiar. I'll just update them now:

Kingdom Hearts: 2,034,245
Final Fantasy X: 2,137,048

If they aren't April's numbers, but May's, then KH is about 2.01m, and FFX is about 2.11m.

EDIT: Yep, they're May numbers.

Disney had little to do with it IMO. Final Fantasy cameos seems like the best bet. Hell, it works for Nintendo in just about evertything, and i'm pretty sure Square thought the same when it came to it's own fanbase.

I think it more had to do with the star power + catchy pop song in the ads. Not to mention Disney.

Ofcourse that certainly didn't hurt it's sales. :p It was alot of things, but one things for sure, Square's finnaly got a title that can stand up nicely with FF in terms of sales, atleast in the US.

u_neek, the Cloud art reminds me of how much his model improved with KH's Cloud. If there ever is a FF sequel, I wouldn't mind him looking like that.

Final Fantasy just doesn't reach out to the mainstream like that though. It certainly helped a lot, but I think the whole Disney wholesome family factor thing helped too.

Wow. Talk about a shocking revelation. That means MS will have the #1 game this generation for first parties. O_O

In the US it will, not worldwide. That shall remain GT3 till GT4 is released.

In just the U.S. of course.

But then again Halo might gain a lead large enough to make the Japan lead mute as is happening with SSBM - unless the W Packs can give SSBM an edge for a little longer.

Average PS2 Game price: $31.64
Average Xbox Game price: $34
Average GCN Game price: $31.54
Average GBA Game price: $23.54

I wonder if this is proof of the year of the Xbox (Xbox owners are buying more full price games (As a percentage of total software sales on the system)) Or if it just shows how much the Platinum/Classics range on Xbox sucks.

How much royalties does each company get from every game sale?

I know Nintendo's royalty fees are high, Sony and MS might be around the same

That REALLY sucks...

If there was any Nintendo game I did NOT want to see do well...it was Pokemon Colosseum. I'd rather have Kirby Air Ride top NG...

Oh well, we all know that shit games can do fairly well (Enter the Matrix and DRIV3R, for example).

Pokemon Colosseum was an exceptionally good game. It was graphically lacking but its adventure mode was exciting. Worthy of its sales, which is a rare thing IMO.
