Lets talk pricing. What you think games/media should cost

PS3/360 - 30$ AAA titles, 15$-20$ budget titles, 10$ platinum hits
Wii - 20$ for most, 30$ for the AAA ones
New Movie Rental HD/SD - 5$/3$ for 5 days
Older Movie Rental HD/SD - 3$/2$ for 5 days

5$ for retro purchases that are enhanced and older than PSX generation. 3$ for ones that aren't enhanced. 7$ for newer ones and original ones.

Wow, and I thought I was frugal with my "Wait 6 months" and "A patient gamer will be rewarded"

At least I am willing to wait for price drops of $20-30.

Indeed. I mean, if it's a game I know I'll get a lot of fun out of, like...Mario Galaxy or Resident Evil 4, then yeah, I'll throw down 50 dollars. But for something I doubt I'll play for more than 5 hours, I won't pay more than 20.

In Australia, games should be AUD$80 tops (which is about USD$70).

Currently they are AUD$120 (USD$102) for 360/PS3 and AUD$100 (USD$85) for Wii.

$40 at the absolute most for collectors editions.

$20-30 for the average title. Once this happens, we will be a million fucking miles closer to being a mainstream media.

Speak for yourself.

Games have been a mainstream entertainment outlet for years now. Arguably decades.
