I am simply looking for someone to help me with directions to Mandarake in Tokyo. I understand that there are two, is that right? If so, which one should I visit with my limited time? I'm in Osaka and therefore have daily access to Den-Den Town, but I'm making a short trip to Tokyo and hear that Mandarake is something else. I've been to Akihabara several times and that didn't really stand out from Den-Den Town.

Anyway, directions and opinion on which Mandarake would be most worthwhile visiting would be much appreciated! I'll be staying in Shinjuku, but I don't mind going out of my way to get to a really cool place.

And hey, while you're at it, recommend me some other cool touristy things to see in Tokyo! No Gas Panic jokes, please

Edit: Uh, ok, so I kinda just discovered that Mandarake in Shinjuku is the one to go for because the others are manga and figurines and such, right?

There is a Mandarake store in Nakano that sells games, but when I was there I only bought one game, and I found the same game for half the price later in the week in Akihabara :|

The store was pretty small also, not only cramped like most stores in the area, but also in terms of square footage.

You'd be ridiculous not to. I was just there last night and it's ABSURD. And the prices seemed reasonable on most stuff, though not all. It's worth the trip, just to see some of the crazy shit they have.

There's also a Mandarake in Shibuya. It's in the BEAM building, basement floor. That's the only one I've been to, but it's a huge store.

You know there are a couple of Mandarake's in Osaka right?

If you are not looking for manga, figurines and such, going to Mandarake in the first place is kindof a head scratcher as that is pretty much what they specialize in.

If you are only looking for games, I would suggest the one in Nakano (even though it is completely out of the way), there are several Mandarake mini stores in the Nakano broadway mall, but one of them is completely dedicated to games.

If you want directions, just go to Mandarake's home page, they have maps for all their locations.

There are four in Tokyo, but only the ones in Nakano and Shibuya have games. Both are decent enough for games and the shop in Nakano has a quite a few stores in general around there so you should check it out. If you want directions you can just check there website.

Why are you going all the way to Tokyo for Mandarake? There's one in Umeda really close to the hankyu station. It's in the shopping arcade, really close to that pachinko parlor with the giant dragon statue on the wall. (awesome instructions, huh?)

That was the first Mandarake I ever went to like 5 years ago. It's great for animation cells.

It has some awesome used game stuff sometimes. I got Kenshin Dragon Quest for 200 yen a few months ago. Haha.
