The main bundle of apps haven't been called Microsoft Office for a long time, it only exists as a single license and doesn't get major feature updates. The main Office apps that get feature updates have been called Microsoft 365 since 2020, they just added Copilot to the end.

They got rid of Office branding in 2022 and nobody noticed. The app this thread is about was named Microsoft 365 App until a year ago when they added the Copilot part but hadn't had "Office" in the name for a couple of years.

Office became Office 365 with the move to the cloud back in the 2010s, and they've been using that branding through to at least 2022, where Microsoft 365 began to be used pretty inconsistently. In common vernacular, "Office" is still the name for Microsoft's productivity suite and is used interchangibly even within Microsoft's own applications:
"Shady websites" aren't required for Microsoft to fuck up their own products and branding. Hence why my iPhone is an Xbox and their browser is named after a sex act.
