Monster Hunter Stories 3 Demo trailer.

Its fun. I played the demo for like 30 mins. there is just so much else im playing right now but from what I see it is a lot deeper than the 2 was.
Ooooh yeah Hunting Horn had huge upgrade over the 2nd game and I really like the Long Sword mechanic in this game

Sooo glad we LS now, in first game the tease us by Reverto having LS but we could never use.

I played some more. Very enjoyable but a few things really tick me off. Like the female character using the same running animation as the male character which looks really off on her. Or the removal of Sword and Shield which was one of my favorites which I complained about before and I will keep complaining until I see it in the fourth game.

I disagree, you might take damage from head to head but it will never kill you even in 1 HP and its good defensive option if the monster is targeting you which its better to do head to head than trying to heal.

Makes absolute no sense saying to a person playing the game because having 1 HP is not something special, it means putting your character in danger. Specially on battles where the enemy often goes to a skill that deals big damage to all characters in battle after leaving you with 1 hp.

Yeah, the face to face mechanic is very confusing.

IMO if you win you need to take no damage. Its doesn't make sense you win a match up and still take more damage than the monster you win. End up being a very misleding battle mechanic.

You need to take damage only if you either draw or lose.

My example was your character is low on HP and the monster is targeting you for head to head, in that scenario it's better to do head to head than try to heal yourself.

But monster is about use skill attack it better to heal or use absolute evasion skill.

Danjin44 Danjin44 what did they improved from mhs2?
Scale of the environments is much bigger than MHS2, weapon mechanics is much more in depth compare MHS2 and also there is much clear way to tell if the monster is about use head to head or skill attack and who they are they targeting.
In MS2 when monster is about to use skill attack you dont see target line so you dont know who are they targeting.

Also Traversal is much more fun, in MHS1&2 you can fly but you dont get that ability until after 20 or more hours in to the story....in MH3 is not full flight but you can glide and even tho is not full flight its feel bette because the map is much bigger.

Also the obvious improvement is the visuals, character design and FINALLY the monsters are much better scaled compare to MH1&2 which felt like I was riding mini version of those monsters....it felt weird seeing Teostra same size as Velociraptor.

They did that because they want you to upgrade your gear when taking on stronger monsters like in mainline MH games.

Demo was pretty engaging, but I got Monster Hunter Stories 1+2 in a bundle for cheap.

I think I'm gonna try out 2 first because I heard good things, and give 3 a go down the line.

Time to try the demo i guess.

Still doesn't make sense, to the point of the animation, with is quite good, get your attention to the face off battle, while you HP bar, at the lower of the screen, trying to IDK, hide you take the damage. I'm playing at a 4K TV BTW, so never get my attention the huge amount of damage those mechanics have.

As I said, the 'YOU WIN' become very misleading and most of the time you survive with 1 HP. I understand they want you to upgrade, but still you should receive no damage at all. Maybe as a suggestion, if you win the face to face you take no damage while the enemy that lose take only half damage of what you suppose to normally do.

You win, you take no damage, foe takes 50%
Draw, both takes 50%
You lose, you take full damage.

Everything is better than this. To be honest.

Because head to head is very strong not only you do high damage it also fills your kinship and if the monster is about to do high damage skill attack, you can just ride your Monstie and survive the attack.

There has to be risk to do head to head and in my opinion taking some damage is fair risk.

Wait, am I retarded or what exactly are you guys talking about?

If you head-to-head, you can always switch monsties (or change color if he targets you) to always guarantee a face-off where I deal 100% of the damage and the enemy deals 0% damage to you. Or are you guys talking about when the enemy is targeting your partners monstie?

No they are talking even if you do successful head to head you still take some damage it never kill you even one 1HP.

welp, i just beat feral brachy

what the fuck

I saw someone beating the Espinas. wtf
I just came from from an almost 200 turn fight against Espinas and I was just about to do the killing blow and accidentally did blue (against Espinas' blue) resulting in me dying against a sliver of health left. I kinda want to physically hurt myself right now.

Battle took 4 ½ hours. Not even talking the prep for the fight but the actual 1v1 fight took almost 5 hours and I lost because my brain, for some reason, forgot that green counters blue. Oh and he was about to die the very next turn too since he had noxious poison AND was ½ bar from getting staggered.
