Unexpected enemies and allies:

During her mission on Viewros, Samus will encounter both fearsome adversaries and figures who can aid her in her quest.

  • Sylux: A mysterious warrior wrapped in sky-blue armor. He seems to share a mental connection with Samus, but his intentions remain unclear.
  • Ais Raxus: an immense creature with an organic body and metallic components. It serves as a guardian of the depths of Viewros, and can be both an enemy and an ally depending on the player's actions.
  • Lamorn: Her past is shrouded in secrecy, and she seems to know details about the origin of Samus's psychic power... But it is not yet known whether or not she is an ally of hers.

Who is really Sylux?

Sylux is introduced as the mirror of Samus – an entity that possesses the same psychic power, but uses it aggressively. It is said to have arisen from old Federation experiments, a failed attempt to replicate the hunter's abilities. The confrontation between Samus and Sylux will be one of the central points of the narrative.

"The boundary between the ally and the enemy will be blurred."
"After all, what defines a human mind when it pushes its own limits?"

This video does a good job going over all the information:

That render with the Shock Coil looks beast. Federation Prototype Origin story seems more likely. Wonder if they tried to clone Samus and failed. Both in the original reveal and with this render Sylux is surrounded by Mocktroids. Makes me wonder if Sylux is part of the corrupt Federation splinter group that went rogue that you see hints of in games like Other M and Fusion.

Interesting that your actions can affect the story, that's not normal for Metroid.

Don't @ me

OOHHHHHHH Sylux...is Adam...IS SYLUX!!!!!

As long as "we have robocop at home" Adam (robocop) doesn't give us permission to drive our bikes or use our missiles we will get along fine...

I think it likely that large beast guardian will attack you if you shoot certain things in it's vicinity. It would be something if Metroid Prime 4 had a system where your actions alters the narrative especially with how they are pushing Sylux as a more aggressive Samus in all but name.

VGA-Games VGA-Games I'm thinking The Relic either sends you back to the current planet's past or the Relic itself is a World Prison it sucks you into if you get too close when activated as some sort of secret weapon.

These character designs are hideous.

Getting this regardless, waited too long. Good or bad I need to experience it myself. This is the same way I felt when FFXV finally released. But that ended up being MUCH worse than I expected.

Already going into this with low expectations, so hopefully it ends up being better than I expect.
