I just tried, it's not possible the dlc is shown separate from the game but it's impossible to load or unload them seperately.Dunno. I upgraded Kirby and my only Virtual Card is for the Switch 2 version.
No, I mean if you on the game digitally and buy the upgrade path, there doesn't appear to be a way to run the original Switch 1 version (non-upgraded) on your Switch 2. So if you are unhappy with the upscaling noise this upgrade introduced, you are stuck with it. It would be akin to running the PS4 version of Elden Ring on your PS5 for best performance at the sacrifice of visuals or Steam's/GoG's version history allowing you to play on a previous patch version of a game should the latest patch introduce issues.
Oh, I see what you mean. If you buy the upgrade pack, it might be possible to set it not to install by finding it's eshop page and pressing + or - five times in a row.
I've used this to successfully tell DLCs not to install alongside a base game in the past.
For Kirby, the eShop Switch 1 version directs you to "Virtual Game Cards".

That's a digital license issue, your Kirby game is "loaded" on your other system. Which would happen regardless of whether you got the Switch 2 upgrade for it. You have to switch the virtual game card back to your Switch 1, to play the base game there.
It might be possible to play the S1 version on S2, by going to the $20 DLC upgrade page, and pressing - or + 5 times there.
Nope. I don't even have a Switch 1 anymore, it was factory reset after I system transferred to my Switch 2. Theoretically, you could have never had a Switch 1, purchased Kirby or Xenoblade on the eShop before upgrades were available, upgraded, and have lost access to those non-upgraded versions.
Fair, but XB2 still punched above its weight, imho. They did, however, pay for that by sacrificing image quality. But to me, that always seemed like a deliberate trade-off. The technical state of Xenoblade X' Switch 2 Edition seems like a hack job. They are known for shitty image quality (especially handheld) and never fixing it. XB2's over sharpened look is pretty much iconic at this point.
Something seems off here. In your screenshot it says the game isn't loaded on any system...checks out...and gives you the option to load it on your system...so why not do that?
Well for one thing...it's not the Switch 1 version of the game...it looks like the Switch 2 Edition. If you had the Switch 1 game first, you should be able to go into the eshop, navigate to the $20 upgrade pack and turn it off.
Fixed it for you with a good and technically solid AI upscaling method.
I bought the game digitally on the Switch 1, I bought the upgrade on the Switch 2. There is no option to download the original version. That's the point. Thankfully, I didn't pull the trigger on the XCX upgrade because I'd be trapped in the upgraded version and might prefer the original version because it lacks the upscaling noise of the upgrade.

Do you really think, for example, a GAF meetup would look much different?I've said it many times and I'll say it again. Why does DF always choose thumbnails that look like mugshots of convicted pedophiles
Everyone on NeoGAF is literally a Chad. Except maybe adamsapple and Men_In_Boxes. The the rest, are pure ChadDo you really think, for example, a GAF meetup would look much different?![]()
So you can't find the download page for the base game on the eshop? Edit: I still think you should try setting the Switch 2 content not to install, THEN install the game even if it's the *named* the 2 version!
Are you trying to be obtuse? I've already gone over this multiple times and provide screenshots of what is available to download.
Right, but you won't give a direct answer, whether you have specifically opened the eshop and looked for the DLC page, which is the solution to the problem. You cannot arrive there, from your game card menu. Edit: In other words find this item on your Switch https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/p...lus-star-crossed-world-upgrade-pack-switch-2/

We must live in a different world then, because I've see a hellva lot of people criticising Sony for their behaviour, rightfully so. Anyone who defends this type of nonsense can only be a fanboy / drone.I don't think it matters. Sony "Drones"(to use your phrasing) brushed away any criticism by saying the same things ("its only $X", "Only a snack", etc.). Its all gouging of a closed customer base in the end so I don't see any moral high ground. Xbox was the only one which had smart delivery to my knowledge since the keys work on any xbox and PC. The focus should be on the fact that such an anticipated update is a train wreck alone.
I did.
OK man I'll take your word for it...you've explained everything EXCEPT that part...would be interesting what happened when you got to that DLC page, and if you tried to press +/- 5 times...and yeah it would have to be through the Switch, not a browser...
For Kirby, the eShop Switch 1 version directs you to "Virtual Game Cards".
FYI, take a look at this:Wrong. I've explained it twice. Have a third:
If I could screenshot the store page, I would, but it is blocked. The store page directs you to your Virtual Game Cards like the screenshots above show. I don't really care what you believe. Other people in this thread have explained the same situation.
