Nvidia and Microsoft partner to eliminate stuttering and shader compilation on PC

I mean, you can enjoy 720p resolutions in UE5 games on PS5 and traversal stutters are still there.
They sure are, but nowhere near as bad as on PC. It's also not just exclusive to that dog shit engine. RE Engine has traversal stutter that doesn't exist when playing on my PS5 Pro.

A problem they helped make shittier in the first place from DX11 to DX12.

Like all their technologies, it was announced via their blog. You probably haven't heard much about it because it's mostly geared towards developers.
For the general public, it will be more apparent when a game announces the use of the technology.
I see, so let's hope devs are gonna use this technology.

It's very unfucked right now, at least here as I don't notice any issue.
Nah, whatever they changed with how the driver and card voltage interaction works is still wonky, my original undervolt still doesn't work with the new drivers and it doesn't respect voltage limits the same. Also, the 595 drivers, including the newest, screwed up performance in some Vulkan games. Arknights Endfield was literally a maxed out 120 fps pegged before 595 drivers and now it's literally unplayable because it constantly drops to like 5 fps. They used the same "we can't reproduce the problem" they did with Requiem and now they at least acknowledged it but said it will be fixed in a later driver.

Basically they break as much as they fix these days. Every driver is a new adventure I don't want to be on.

Hm. I don't do undervolt and I don't have a RTX 5000 so maybe because of this.

I have with REmake 4 and Requiem. Traversal stutter between areas. More noticeable when running.

You have both versions? Traversal stutters are usually present in all version of games - but there are few exceptions (like Dead Space remake). Capcom also likes to implement few different DRMs in their PC games.

Traversal stutter is mildly immersion breaking and so mildly annoying, but nearly always occurs while, well, traversing between areas with no action or real player input. Shader stutter nearly always occurs at the exact point you don't want it to - right in the middle of action, usually when you as a player need responsiveness.

I grabbed RE4 on PC a year later for cheap. I switch between the two versions, and the traversal stutter is still there post DRM removal. I was playing it just yesterday.

I refunded Requiem after my initial PC purchase and then picked up for my PS5 Pro. Traversal stutter again being the issue. Not present at all on PS5.

This has been brought up by many users previously in the OTs and review threads.

Stutter is a massive issue on PC games. Whether or not it is due to poor frame timing or shader compilation. It is far more present here than on consoles.

I guess it's a preference in the end. I prefer good image quality and high framerate with occasional stutters (that only happen in some games) vs. shit image quality and/or framerate that you see all the time.

Nothing wrong with the image quality in Requiem on Pro. It looks and runs great.

That said, I also enjoy DLAA on PC. It's an unmatched image quality still. Stutter is enough of an issue though where I will refund if needed and pick up on console.

Yeah, requiem on Pro looks very good (outside of RT noise problems) but I was talking about those amazing UE5 games mostly.
