Pokemon Presents - February 27th, 6AM PST

I was so excited to hear more about Champions only to have a cringe video and a launch date of April and thats it? Man, what a let down this video has being going.

They look nice ngl, hope they've switched over completely to the new battle and capture system.

You can't make this shit up. That is one of the worst names I've ever heard. But hey, at least it doesn't look like a fucking PS2 game this time.

Starter designs really lack any charm whatsoever and I'm not a nostalgic gen wunner.

My problem with that is that starters looks specifically re-used already. Water concept looks like the one from Sword/Shield and the grass one looks repeated from Sun/Moon. The only interesting one is the fire starter.

The name is cool, and Pombon, the fire one, it looks cute. That one is going to take off you watch.

It's certainly a step up visually. The dense jungles, underwater, the sunset lighting, and the surface water are pretty impressive for a Pokemon game.

They did well with this, and ain't releasing this year so they are taking their time, great.
This also puts some pressure on Nintendo for this holydays lineup and how do they cover for no pokemon. It´s the best result possible, or very close.

Looks fine to me. Fire starter is a little underwhelming but that is just me. I'm sure there will be tons that love it.
It's the evolutions that I want to see. VandS starters looked great in base form and garbage in final evolution. Not a one I liked and lets face it. It's the final eveolutions that you spend the most time with.

We all know the fire puppy will evolve into a buffed fire/fighting bulldog

Pokopia looks frikkin great too.
Oh I know, I am actually really excited for it. Initially I blew it off as yet another weird Pokemon spinoff, but once I learned it's made by the same guys who gave us the Dragon Quest Builders games I got really excited. I rarely buy games at launch and I am considering this because of how much I loved DQB2.

The lazy games media circle did Pokopia a big disservice when it was announced by all regurgitating the same headline: New Animal Crossing + Minecraft Pokemon Game! If you've played the DQB games you'd know that while they do have block-based sandbox elements, they are simulation games at heart. The core of the game is to design full blown towns that satisfy the needs of the NPCs, the sandbox part just means it's fun to creatively do that out however you design.

It kind of sucks that the few Pokopia discussions I've seen here on Neogaf were overshadowed by posters who can't stop expressing their distaste for game key cards.
