The funny thing is i have seen quite a few streamers talk about wanting a Halo BR, and how done right it could work really well.

So of course nthey drop that for the extraction fad.

Arc Raiders, like Fortnite before it, has a lot to answer for.

I think we should be rooting for Halo: Infinite 2, no one wants to admit that the open worldness in Infinite was actually pretty good. There are ways to extend Halo's life.

The open world was literally the worst part….

And is not in decline after how many months? Why focus on a live service game/mode when the game is literally dead a few months later. They need to come up with something fresh and new. People are sick of BR and now sick of extraction games.

Arc Raiders has dropped the ball in not having a long term plan, still seems to be doing more than fine.

People are not sick of any particular sub genre. Just make a decent game with an engaging seasonal model and people will stick around

This is great if:

It's part of a package (separate mode)
There is a sp pve mode within as an option with the potential for rare loot and 4 player quest aka mtx maxing

If not chasing trends and they should just let the modders make it instead
