The information comes from dataminer and leaker SadlyItsBradley, who has a strong track record with Valve news.
In a recent message shared on Discord, he mentioned that the announcement could happen on Wednesday, November 12.
Steam Frame is expected to be connected to virtual reality, though it likely won't be a traditional VR headset. Instead, Valve seems to be working on something closer to Apple's take on spatial computing, aiming for an immersive experience that's still simple and accessible. The device is said to focus on improving traditional flat-screen gaming by adding spatial elements. For instance, the screen could light up the room, project shadows, or integrate virtual objects into the real world.
However, the basic idea seems close to the Steam Deck. It aims to offer simple, affordable gaming in a single device, without trying to achieve ultra-realistic graphics or advanced motion tracking like high-end VR systems.
