This was in the Sunday paper today (a week behind, heh), but I feel it makes a few good points, and is just well enough written to let the rest of you in on it.

Man, it's been 59 years and two days since that infamous day.
 
Yeah, they should have. Only once, and not on a city or town. It would have been enough to prove that continuing the war would have been pointless.

Might as well, since that was the only way I could see the country stopping the Japanese without a massive west coast invasion/confrontation. Should have saved some nukes for the Germans, though

We did drop it once. And there was still no surrender. I guess that is the most compelling case you can make for having done it.

They already gave up after the second one and we knew it... but the thread is locked... I just wanted to say that.. Nakasaki should have never happened!!
