Shuhei Yoshida is visiting PlayStation Japan headquarter 0_o

On the Concord front Shuhei would have put the green light on Concord during an era when Overwatch was huge and the game looked completely different.

Remember that this is how Concord started.

That's completely fake news.

Do you know that Shuhei is the one who started porting games to PC?

Of course, between him and Herman, I'd choose him a thousand times over. But I think I might even prefer Philip Spencer over Herman.
Shu isn't perfect, but yeah he would absolutely be a better pick than Herman.

It's under his watch that Playstation 1st party division made record profits in the end.

And most importantly the games were great and fun. People were buying PS4s to play Infamous SS, GoW or Bloodborne knowing they could only be played there.

And I would argue it's thanks to him, and the 1st party games, that many people chose Playstation as their console of choice to play games, including 3rd party games. They were naively thinking PS5 would get the same amount of awesome Sony games as PS3/PS4 (it didn't).

The day Shu left, everything went south. These guys are what made Playstation so great.

It wasn't just that Shu left, it was that the California imbeciles consolidated power and completely took over when they managed to oust him. These people are mentally retarded, Sony moving its HQ there ruined Playstation first parties and turned the entire department into a joke

4 billion for fucking Bungie, Disney paid that to buy LucasFilm, it's difficult to comprehend how colossally stupid that is

After the recent announcement of Legends not getting any more support, Mr. Shu flew to HQs to report Hermen's insidious shenanigans and how's he's deviating resources in favor of the Horizon's GaaS, which is set to bring further embarrassment to his beloved brand.
Sony invited me to play Hunters Gathering. I might hate Play it.

Don't you let them ignore the fact that he signed the funding deal for Concord. Shuhei Yoshida was literally a sociopathic child with matches left alone in the house of PlayStation.

Come on man, the whole "Shuhei is responsible for concord!!!" argument is dishonest, and you know it.

Shuhei went to a small external team with several experienced devs that had just been set up by the ex CEO of Bungie and signed a contract with them to develop a prototype for Playstation. That's it, that's his involvement with Concord, blaming the person who requested a prototype for the entire failure of the project is ridiculous. He wasn't the one who decided this was going to be the next Star Wars, that Sony had to buy the studio and invest hundreds of millions on the project.

It's like Shuhei went to a small but promising new bakery and asked them to make a sample of a cake..
They came back some time later and presented a shit flavored cake.
Rather then being disgusted by it, Hermen and Jim went:]

And straight up bought the bakery.

But somehow the entire fault lies with Shu.

Great guy, and then he goes and retweets the disgusting Mixtape kissing minigame.....i know he has to support these Indie devs, but don't encourage trash like that. It reflects on you.

They're going to have a closed door meeting with him where they spend 4 hours laughing a Jim and Herman memes to lure him back to the company.

He should be running First Party studios again. Ridiculous he was ever let go, especially if they were just going to let He-man Hulst replace him

yup early years of PS4 was the PlayStation peak, second half of PS4 was when things went down hill

Plus Shu advocated for Stellar Blade, something the blue hairs at other parts of Sony would have never allowed before leaving.

'bring'm back! bring'm back!'...

jeez, you guys. the man's 62. he put in his time, & delivered some truly great stuff. maybe he just wants to kick back at this point? leave'm be. he looks happy enough to me...

He now works with a 3rd party publisher, so pretty likely are there showing Sony their next project(s) to get a marketing deal or something.

The PC + GaaS initiative and Marathon, GT7, MLB, TLOU Online, Helldivers 2, London Studio's new IP, Horizon Hunter Gathering and maybe other GaaS of the initiative were started by Shuhei Yoshida and Shawn Layden. Hermen and Ryan just continued their work.

So according to you Astro Bot, Death Stranding 2, Physint, Stellar Blade, Lost Soul Aside and Marvel Tokon don't exist? Hermen greenlighted them, he didn't kill Japan Studio.

What Hermen did was to cancel the mobile games they were making and restructured them to bring them back to focus on console games, giving them new and bigger offices in the same building to both internal and external teams where they could grow. Teams which now would be again separated teams as they were in the past, and as happened before in the EU and US studios that had XDEV teams. And also merged their different internal development teams into one of them: Team Asobi.
How did Yoshida and Shawn Layden start Marathon when Bungie wasn't even part of Sony for three more years after Layden left?

It's crazy they basically fired this guy.

Embarrassing
Not really. He is the one who recommended the purchase of Firewalk, the studio who developed Concord. He was also leading the charge for PSVR2. Yoshida definitely did more good things than bad, but people view him as bulletproof. He is part of the reason for their struggles this generation
