I wonder how many players they actually have?

A true monkeys paw, Ubisoft couldnt cancel the game but atleast they get to eat the government subsidies and get to keep Ubisoft Singapore(Main) to work on Assassins Creed games for cheap.

The Skull and Bones team(barebones) have basically been put in the basement to keep costs down.

I wonder what Ubi will do once the required support time lapses....will they shutdown the servers or make a peer to peer variant of the game?

By my calculations it had less than 1k DAU on Steam last week. This weekend the game is popping with around 10k DAU. Not CCU, DAU. It's hitting peaks of around 1.7K CCU.

Dunno how active it is on non-steam platforms, but let's be real, it's not going to be much.

Crazy thing though, its earnings on Steam are similar to Marathon. Yes, this dead ass dead game is selling enough to compete with the Omega of OmegaGenre.

How is it still alive?
I'm genuinely shocked that Ubi hasn't dropped this game.

They are contractually obligated to support it due to the subsidies they get.
Theyve effectively locked the update team in basement and are using Ubisoft Singapore to help with Assassins Creed.
And they still get to eat the subsidies.
Isn't Ubisoft contractually obliged to support the game for a few years? Something with the government of Singapore partially funding the game? Also the total cost of this game is around 650 to 850M. Yes you read that right.

Yup.
They actually wanted to cancel the game way back when, but they had to release and support it for who knows how many years.
Im guessing just guessing this is the last year they have to support the game.
Just wondering what they will do when that time lapse......make the game peer to peer?

I only knew that they had to complete it. This is the first time I'm hearing about support.
