I'm not going to pretend I like Starfox, I never even tried the N64 game for more than five minutes. But still, pretty cool and awesome graphics. This is how you do a remake.
Also, the English voice acting was superb. Which is unusual because Japanese companies often hire shit VA trying to emulate the tone and style of Japanese chuuni voice acting.

I didn't know that's happening. Looks kinda sweet. Didn't even recognize it's a remake of 64. Wish they did some stylization, like puppets or something. I guess rail shooter beggars can't be choosers. I hope it leads to a new game though. And more games in the genre (Sega plz, give real budgets).

If I had to choose between a 64 remake and a new game that falls flat, like the last few have, I'd absolutely pick the remake.

I mean, Star Fox 64 was already essentially a remake of Star Fox 1, and Star Fox Zero was a reimagining of Star Fox 1... so this is basically the remake of a remake, after they already released a reimagining...

Shoulda made them look more like the old puppets used to advertise the SNES game. Something about these versions have a weird look to them. Cool they can hit that level visuals in real time now though.

I was almost surprised to see they made a classic Star Fox game without any other bullshit... Then I realized this is basically a remake. Would have loved to see some classic Star Fox gameplay in a completely new game.
I'm not sold on the "realistic" character design, but gameplay looks good. Mouse mode is a great addition, it's the best Switch 2 feature tbh. If they can get it to run at 120 FPS like MP4 it's gonna be lit.

Sort of. The jump between Star Fox 1 and 64 is absolutely huge. It's like playing a tech demo versus a full game.
And Star Fox Zero might have had similar beats to 64, but the game was fundamentally entirely different, for the worse. It controlled horribly, it had pacing issues, and all of the stages were completely different. It just shares the same overall progression beats.
Then you have Star Fox 64 3D, which was simply a 1:1 remaster of 64. The same exact game but with slightly better graphics.
I'd argue this is the first time we're getting a true remake of 64. I mean, if your argument is that most of the Star Fox games are similar, I agree. But 64 is far and away the best one, and it's not even close. The further they stray from 64, the worse the games have been. So I'm honestly okay with them giving it a proper remake.

He is supposed be more humanoid look with the metal legs because of the g-fuser or something.
Now he is like almost 100% bird, hands included. Gonna be difficult imagining him driving an airwing.
