Star Wars Rogue Squadron Trilogy - Is a remaster possible?

Source code and assets owned by whoever bought them at the Factor 5 bankruptcy sale.

Star Wars license held by Disney/Lucasfilm.

Star Wars game publishing license held by Electronic Arts.

Seems like it would be a legal nightmare to ever get this off the ground. Why would EA want to dilute the power of the brand with remasters of these kinda-shallow games?

I always thought that EA had rights to make new Star Wars games and not be the one who has any say if any classic Star Wars games wants to be re-released.

I remember playing Rebel Strike co-op and then getting stuck at a mission with the Falcon.

Also remember finding Rebel Strike at an EB (Canada's Gamestop) but it was in a generic case with no manual. I convinced them to give me 10% off due to that, only to get home and realize it was the DEMO disc. Brought it back for a refund.

That's correct. Lucasfilm controls the back catalog. If they did remasters I think it's likely they'd have EA publish. I have no idea who would do the actual dev work, though.

That's the biggest hurdle. Disney doesn't have anyone that could do it and I don't even know who EA would have do their own remasters let alone someone else's.
