I had fairly low expectations for part one, but they did make a beautiful film with some really, really slick action sequences that captured the spirit of the original games, which I appreciated. If they can top that, I'm happy to look forward to more.

I'm not expecting anything super high quality or deep (story-wise). It's a kids movie, with plenty of fun throwbacks for fans of the games and some good jokes that adults can enjoy. Sometimes a fun and shallow romp like this is all you need, I'm planning to see it as I enjoyed the first film.

I really like the art style of these movies.

My 6-year old daughter saw this yesterday and almost burst into tears of joy. It's incredible how Nintendo has their franchises in a vice grip and continue to make billions. Congrats to them!
