WTF.... Transcript of linked YouTube video

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher: We have recently seen an attack on Iran, and the Iranian government, the mullahs, believe that Sunni forces have attacked them. This may signal a ratcheting up of certain commitments by the United States of America. As far as I’m concerned, I just want to make this point and see what you think, isn’t it a good thing for us to have the United States finally backing up Sunnis who will attack Hezbollah and the Shiite threat to us? Isn’t that a good thing? And if so, maybe this is a Trump — maybe it’s a Trump strategy of actually supporting one group against another, considering that you have two terrorist organizations.

Dr. Levett: Those attacks were claimed by the Islamic State, it's never in our interest to support a terrorist group like the Islamic State. We should condemn the attacks ...

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher: Even when.... Even when ....

Dr. Levett: ....condemn any act of terrorism and hold Iran accountable for its sponsorship [of terrorism]...

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher: So that's like Joe Stalin was horrible guy, we must never associate with horrible guys like that even to get Hitler and so, maybe it's a good idea to have radical Muslim terrorists fighting each other, I'll leave it at that.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) praised the recent Islamic State attack in Tehran as a “good thing” and suggested that maybe the United States should work with the militant organization.

Rohrabacher’s entire line of reasoning for why the United States should work with a militant group accused of human rights violations and war crimes like ethnic cleansing is astonishing.

That's fucking disgusting. Praising terrorism should be the absolute end of anyone's political career, but Trump has lowered the bar to such a level that it's hard to tell whether enough people even notice/care about what their politicians say or do.

We need term limits for Congressional people, Rep. Rohrabacher has been in office since January 3, 1989, also support Russia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dana_Rohrabacher

Dana Tyrone Rohrabacher[1] /ˈrɔːrəˌbɑːkər/ (born June 21, 1947) is a member of the U.S House of Representatives representing California's 48th congressional district. A Republican, he served as a speechwriter and Special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan from 1981-1988.[2]

In terms of his positions, Rohrabacher voted to repeal Obamacare,[3] denies global warming,[4] is a staunch opponent of illegal immigration,[5] and favors the legalization of marijuana.[6] In foreign policy, he supported withdrawing U.S. troops from Afghanistan,[7] called Trump to punish Turkish President Erdoğan on embassy violence,[8] sided with Russia in the Russia–Georgia war, supported the annexation of Crimea in 2014[9] and supports cooperating with Russia in Syria[10] to the extent that House majority leader Kevin McCarthy said allegedly joking that Vladimir Putin pays both Donald Trump and Rohrabacher.[11] He was warned in 2012 by the FBI that Russian spies may have been trying to recruit him to act on Russia's behalf, after he met with a member of the Russian foreign ministry privately in Moscow.[12] Following the ISIS terrorist attacks in Tehran on June 7th, 2017, in which 17 innocent civilians were killed, he suggested that the attack could be viewed as ‘a good thing', and surmised that President Trump might have been behind the coordination of this terrorist attack. [13]

Prior to working in the Reagan Administration, Rohrabacher served as assistant press secretary to Ronald Reagan during his 1976 and 1980 presidential campaigns.[14] During his tenure at the White House, Rohrabacher played a leading role in the formulation of the Reagan Doctrine.

Ah well, still looking for the elusive decent Republican.

Why have these people become so obsessed with Iran??

He's straight up praising the terrorists he accuses them of sponsoring. It's fucking insanity.

The guys responding are funny. You can tell their minds are blown with what this jagoff is saying.

Can't wait to see the attack ads saying that this dude supports terrorists.

GOP isn't interested in any Middle Eastern country having any stability that isn't run by scum like the Saudi royal family or fucks like the current Israeli gov.

Wow. And the guy has been in political office for so long that he can't even claim ignorance about foreign affairs like Trump could.

Really nothing more needs to be said. I see some crazy people on twitter/youtube praising ISIS, but to see an actual elected U.S. official doing it is scary as hell.

If this isn't immediately condemned by the White House it's going to look to certain parts of the world as the US government being supportive of ISIS.

This is where Trump needs to step up and stamp this out immediately.

The fuck is wrong with the Republican party right now? They are getting worse by the day, god damn...

Trump. He wears his hate on his sleeves and does what he wants without worry. It's not so much Republicans are getting worse, it's just now they don't have to hide how awful they are because they know there won't be any real repercussions.

Even in all of their hate Republican politicians tend to not praise ISIS (especially with creepy smiles). Trump and Republicans also champion a particularly dangerous brand of anti-intellectualism that is just as dangerous as any of the hateful rhetoric they spout day in and day out. When you put hate and stupidity together you get particularly egregious politicians that make you realize real life really can be stranger than fiction.
