Ubisoft will suspend and then close your account if you haven't logged in "for some time"

Not sure how common this is. Seems like the amount of time for the initial warning to be sent is not stated, but you have 30 days after that or your account will be closed.

How exactly does this work when their games that are purchased on Steam/Epic/etc require the key to be stored on Ubisoft Connect?

This is ridiculous, they can't be that hard up on server capacity that they need to go around deleting dormant accounts.

Pretty sure you have to be inactive for over six months. Even then, you have 30 days to log in so that it isn't closed. Really not a big deal.
It's big deal.
If you want to take 1 year break, your account would be banned.
Most people don't check their email that much.

I haven't logged in in years, and my games are still there.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet, this is probably for accounts that don't own games.

When you keep telling your friends to stop buying Ubisoft games and they keep telling you to fuck off, but then they get in a car crash and are in a coma for 13 months and come back to zero games.

It would seem I have a confession to make [friend]. It was me. It was me all along. I was the driver of the other car.

I did this to you.

For real though fuck this shit. lol

I could see it if you did not log in an absurd amount of time. Like 3 years or something.

Still, it is pretty dickish.

For some reason I thought EA used to do this with Origin.

Guess I could test that theory since I hardly ever use either Origin or Uplay.

False flag people.

I am glad it's not real.

Maybe not. At this point, we have wait for Ubisoft.

Are you out of your mind? You need to login every 6 months so you don't lose the games you own and that's reasonable?

I'd like to know how long an account must be "inactive" before they send out the warning. Ubisoft doesn't want to tell us that, it seems.

In IT, it is fairly common to change passwords every 6 months, so I suspect it is probably 6 months.

IT have requirements like that for security, but there isn't a purchase impacted by the requirement. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. If I am hospitalized for a few weeks I could come back and find out that my account and all purchases was completely lost while I was unable to see or respond to their email.

It is a big deal. Ubisoft simply doesn't publish enough games I'm interested in. I bought a number of games on the PC years ago, but I bought AC:V on PS5 and am getting the next AC again on PS5. But I've got to make sure I log in regularly on a service I hardly use so I can keep the digital content I bought? That's fucking crazy. That's even criminal in my book.
