VG Tech: Call of Duty Infinite Warfare PS4 Frame Rate Test

Infinite Warfare makes use of pre-rendered videos that run at 30fps and that can exhibit frame pacing issues (http://imgur.com/a/bZDYd).

Pixel counts indicate that the Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Campaign on PS4 uses a dynamic resolution ranging from 960x1080 to 1920x1080. There also appears to be a temporal technique used that improves the resolution over time for parts of the frame that are similar to the previous frame. In the frames here (http://imgur.com/a/N4qGQ) the pixel counts go from 960x1080 to 1920x1080 seemingly from this temporal technique alone. One issue with this solution is that when the temporal technique can not be used the image scaling seems to perform very similarly to a Nearest Neighbour upscale.

There seems to be an issue with the Xbox One version of the campaign that causes very large frame time spikes to occur (http://imgur.com/a/AwksZ). This issue can be resolved by disconnecting from Xbox Live.

Wow, seems like there isn't much interest for the new CoD. But to be honest, this does not look hot at all. Especially the Xbox One version with framerates between 40-50fps and tearing is really not good.

Will the PS4 Pro patch give us better performance at 1080p or just benefits for 4k resolutions?

The same happened to other games before.
Like AC Unity and PSN. This is hardly related to the os itself and a problem of the game and not the ecosystem.

I hope this isnt the case. If so....wtf MS....

There have been reports of severe performance issues in zombies on Xbox One (https://www.reddit.com/r/Infinitewarf...), but this is not something that I have personally experienced.
