You know, the sequel to the fantastic Big Bang Mini on DS.

They said it was coming to Wii in 2010 (back in 09), and then, nothing :/

i want it!

Arkedo is looking to start a party on the Wii with a Big Bang.

After two successful releases on the Nintendo DS, Arkedo is setting their eyes on the Wii with a console sequel to Big Bang Mini. Talking to N-Sider, Arkedo President Camille Guermonprez said that his company was "learning the Wii right now" and was hoping for a follow-up to their unique DS shooter that would be "extended and redesigned for Wii and its audience." This would include additional multiplayer modes, as well as a solo-oriented arcade mode revisiting five worlds from the DS original.

Arkedo also teased that the arcade mode might feature a co-operative mode inspired by Super Mario Galaxy. Talking about one idea for the sequel, Guermonprez wondered what would happen if a player's four-year-old daughter wanted to play along. "Does she want to help you fight the baddies," he pondered, "or does she want to have fun tickling them so they can get crazy and annoy you more?"

Guermonprez confirmed that the sequel would control like a horizontal scrolling shooter, however details of the game at this point are scarce because the title is very early in development.

Currently Arkedo is planning to release the game sometime in 2010. While they didn't tell N-Sider the name of the project, earlier this month Yubaba, the music composer of Big Bang Mini, had a 2009 listing under the sound design and music project listings section of their MySpace page for a game referred to as Big Bang Party.

damn you Arkedo :(

Arkedo fell of the planet, no?

They were on a ball with their monthly XBLIG series and promised a great concept for #4 (Geometry Wars x Zelda 1) and then.. nothing.

The title says Bing Bang party and I was pretty sure it was something about looking up porn on Bing

I didn't even know they were making a Big Bang title for Wii. Sucks it's probably not happening. That would have been incredible.

Arkedo are one of my favs devs and I hope they are doing okay. I thought they checked in not to long ago and said that they had expanded the Geometry Wars/Zelda style game into a full fledged XBLA title.

From the Arkedo thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=378239&page=5

We will enjoy doing this very much. Maybe not in the very next Series, but definitively in the next batch of 4, yes.

Also, nothing is signed yet, but the idea is to put the Series to another level on XBLA and/or PSN (or both). Should this happen, we would then shut up for quite some time -which won't be a bad thing ^^- and come back when it's done, hopefully with candies in our pockets.

We do not want them to be just compilations.

We hope you'll be pleasantly surprised :)

A while after that when the Windows 7 Phone XBLA lineup was shown there was an Arkedo game. I dunno if that's what came of their secrecy or just another side project.

Of course none of this has anything to do with the Big Bang series, except maybe to shed some light on Arkedo's absence.

I know this thread is 1½ months old and all, but as the author of the original Big Bang Mini Wii article that the OP's article quotes (*shakes fist at blogosphere*), I went asking, a little. And the answer is please wait a little while yet. But yes, I did get a promise it (whatever "it" may be) would be "worth the wait."

Of course, being GAF, you will all probably find out about it before me. :D
